Repave the existing travel lanes. Add new sidewalk along the west side of the roadway with curb ramps between Shirley Drive and Dr. MLK Jr. Boulevard. Add marked pedestrian crossings at Shirley Drive, Pee Hokey Drive, South of Market Street, Barfield Highway and Dr. MLK Jr. Boulevard. Provide new signing and pavement markings. Add street lighting along the roadway corridor and upgrade lighting at the Bacom Point Road intersection.
Construction Impacts:
Construction will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community. Temporary lane closures required during off-peak hours. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times. Driveway access will be maintained during construction. Temporary sidewalk detours will be required.
