Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) Installation Project in Broward County

Project Limits: University Drive from Miramar Parkway to Broward Boulevard, Griffin Road from University Drive to SR 7, and SR 7 from South of Stirling Road to Broward Boulevard.

Estimated Construction Cost: $7.9 million

Scope of Work:The improvements include the installation of 43 Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras to monitor traffic throughout the corridor, installation of nine Arterial Dynamic Message Signs (ADMS) to display traveler information, such as information on crashes, roadway conditions, Amber Alerts, Silver Alerts and public service announcements, the installation of 17 Arterial Travel Time Systems (ATTS) to collect travel time data, the installation of two Microwave Vehicle Detection System (MVDS) sensors to monitor traffic volume and speed detection as updating and integrating 13 existing Permanent Traffic Management Sites (PTMS) cabinets along the corridor.
