Current Lane Closures in Broward County

August 29 through Sepyember 5, 2014

Broward County — Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Broward County are expected during the week of May 30 through June 6, according to the Florida Department of Transportation. I-95 from the Golden Glades in Miami-Dade County to Broward Boulevard in Broward

Restrictions:

  • Up to three northbound lanes on I-95, from the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade County to Sunrise Boulevard in Broward County, will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. and from 11 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday. At least two lanes will remain open at all times. Entrance and exit ramps will be closed as needed in the work zone. Detours will be clearly marked and electronic signs will advise drivers in advance.
  • Up to three southbound lanes on I-95, from Sunrise Boulevard in Broward County to the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade County, will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. and from 11 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday. At least two lanes will remain open at all times. Entrance and exit ramps will be closed as needed in the work zone. Detours will be clearly marked and electronic signs will advise drivers in advance.
  • Up to two eastbound or westbound lanes on Hallandale Beach Boulevard will be closed as needed Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. At least one lane will remain open at all times.
  • Up to two eastbound or westbound lanes on Pembroke Road at I-95 will be closed as needed Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. At least one lane will remain open at all times.
  • Up to two eastbound or westbound lanes on Stirling Road will be closed as needed Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. At least one lane will remain open at all times.

I-75 from NW 170 Street in Miami-Dade County to I-595 in Broward County

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of I-75 from Griffin Road to Indian Trace may be closed Tuesday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for road survey and construction work.
  • One northbound lane of I-75 from SW 148th Avenue to eastbound SR 84 may be closed Tuesday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for road work and tree relocation for sound wall construction. A flag crew will direct traffic.
  • One northbound lane of I-75 from north of Miramar Parkway to Pines Boulevard may be closed Tuesday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for bridge construction.
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from north of Pines Boulevard to north of Miramar Parkway may be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for bridge construction.
  • One northbound lane of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway may be closed Tuesday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for bridge construction.
  • One southbound lane of I-75 from north of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway may be closed Tuesday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for bridge construction.

 

Eller Drive east of the I-595/US 1 interchange at Port Everglades

Restrictions:

  • Intermittent lanes may be closed in either direction within the project limits Monday through Friday at all times.
  • One eastbound lane of I-595 entering Port Everglades will be closed as needed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
  • Northbound access to the intersection of Eller Drive and NE 7th Avenue will be closed as needed overnight Monday through Friday between 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for overhead bridge work. During the closure, northbound motorists on NE 7th Avenue will be detoured east to McIntosh Road where they can make a U-turn to westbound Eller Drive toward westbound I-595, U.S. 1, or Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Restrictions:

  • All lanes are open through September 5.

 

Bridges of the Isles and Sunrise Key Bridges Replacement in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • One westbound lane of Las Olas Boulevard from Nurmi Drive to Fiesta Way will be closed at 9 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, and will remain closed through late October.
  • One lane of the Fiesta Way Bridge is closed through late 2014. A traffic signal and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.
  • One lane of the Nurmi Drive Bridge is closed through late 2014. A traffic signal and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.

 

I-95 Bridge Painting and Rehabilitation over the South Fork of the New River in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • The shoulder along northbound and southbound I-95 from SR 84/Marina Mile Boulevard to Davie Boulevard will be closed through September 30.

 

Kingfisher Waterway Bridge Replacement in Lighthouse Point

Restrictions:

  • The bridge is closed to all traffic through the summer 2014. Southbound traffic is detoured to NE 21st Avenue via NE 33rd Street and then back to NE 23rd Avenue via NE 30th Court. Northbound traffic is detoured to NE 21st Avenue via NE 31st Street and then back to NE 23rd Avenue via NE 34th Street.

 

CSX Bridge Replacement over the South Fork of the New River in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • All lanes open through September 5.

 

Andrews Avenue Extension Reconstruction in Pompano Beach

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Andrews Avenue from NW 18th Street to Park Central Boulevard will be closed intermittently Tuesday through Sunday, September 7 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
  • One lane in each direction of Copans Road from NW 15th Avenue to the CSX Railway will be closed intermittently Tuesday through Sunday, September 7 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
  • One lane in each direction of Andrews Avenue from NW 18th Street to Copans Road will be closed intermittently Tuesday through Sunday, September 7 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

 

Sheridan Street from CSX Railroad to North 26th Avenue

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Sheridan Street from the CSX Railway to North 26th Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

 

Sunrise Boulevard Bridge over the Middle River

Restrictions:

  • The north sidewalk along Sunrise Boulevard from U.S. 1 to Middle River Drive is closed through May 2015. Pedestrians should use the NE 20th Avenue crosswalk to access the south sidewalk.
  • One of the two left turn lanes from northbound Middle River Drive to westbound Sunrise Boulevard will be closed through early 2016.
  • One westbound lane of Sunrise Boulevard between Middle River Drive and NE 20th Avenue is closed through early 2016. Two lanes are open for westbound traffic.
  • One eastbound lane of Sunrise Boulevard between U.S. 1 and Middle River Drive is closed through early 2016. Two lanes are open for eastbound traffic.

 

Dixie Highway Roadway Improvements Project from McNab Road to NE 26 Street in Pompano Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Oakland Park, and Wilton Manors

Restrictions:

  • One southbound lane of Dixie Highway on the bridge over the North Fork Middle River Canal is closed for the duration of the project. This closure is necessary to remove and reconstruct the bridge concrete barrier wall and install the new pedestrian/bicycle railing.
  • One lane in each direction of Dixie Highway from NE 43rd Court to Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed Tuesday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • One lane in each direction of Dixie Highway from Commercial Boulevard to NE 38th Street will be closed Tuesday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

 

SR 7 at Southgate Boulevard Intersection Improvements Project in Margate

Restrictions:

  • All lanes are open through September 5.

 

I-595 Corridor Drainage Improvements Project in Dania Beach

Restrictions:

  • All lanes are open through September 5.

 

17th Street Causeway Bridge Submarine Cable Replacement Over the Intracostal Waterway

Restrictions:

  • Minimal impact is expected to motorists during construction. The contractor does not anticipate any construction related lane closures.
  • The 17th Street Causeway Bridge will be placed on single-leaf opening during regularly scheduled openings. A three-hour advance notice to the bridge tender will be required for a double-leaf opening from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, Monday through Saturday. Boaters are to contact the bridge tender at (954) 524-7783.

 

Oakland Park Boulevard at NW 56th Avenue Intersection Improvements Project in Lauderhill

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed overnight Monday through Friday between 9:30 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • One lane in each direction of Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

 

Flamingo Road at SW 8th Street Intersection Improvements Project in Davie

Restrictions:

  • All lanes are open. This project has been completed.

 

I-95 at Oakland Park Boulevard Exit Ramp Improvements Project in Oakland Park

Restrictions:

  • One lane of the northbound I-95 exit ramp to westbound Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

 

I-595 Bridges Fender System Replacement Project over the South Fork of the New River in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • Minimal impact to motorists is expected during construction. The contractor does not anticipate any construction-related lane closures.
  • The horizontal clearance within the channel will be reduced from 40 feet to 30 feet while crews are working Mondays through Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. With a 45 minute notice, the barge may be moved to restore the 40 foot clearance. SR 84 at I-95 Drainage Pond Restoration Project in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • All lanes are open through September 5.

 

West Lake Park Pedestrian Improvements in Hollywood

Restrictions:

  • All lanes are open through September 5.

 

A1A Reconstruction Project in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of A1A from Sunrise Boulevard to NE 14th Street is closed through late 2014. One lane in each direction will remain open.
  • Both lanes of traffic along A1A from NE 14th Street to NE 18th Street are shifted east through late 2014 as crews work on the west side of the road. One lane in each direction will remain open.
  • On-street parking along A1A within the project limits has been eliminated.
  • The speed limit is reduced to 25 MPH through this construction zone.

 

Davie Boulevard Roadway Improvements Project in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Davie Boulevard from SR 7 to SW 38th Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
  • One lane in each direction of Davie Boulevard from SW 17th Avenue to the south fork of the New River Bridge will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
  • One lane in each direction of Davie Boulevard from SR 7 to SW 38th Avenue will be closed overnight Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • One lane in each direction of Davie Boulevard from SW 17th Avenue to the south fork of the New River Bridge will be closed overnight Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.

 

Commercial Boulevard Roadway Improvements Project in Tamarac

Restrictions:

  • One lane in either direction of Commercial Boulevard from west of White Oak Lane to east of NW 49th Avenue will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday.
  • No eastbound lane closures on Commercial Boulevard are permitted between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
  • No westbound lane closures on Commercial Boulevard are permitted between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.

 

SR 7 / US 441 Intersections Improvements Projects Information in Hollywood and Dania Beach

Restrictions:

  • Two lanes in each direction of SR 7 / U.S. 441 at Seminole Way will be closed Tuesday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday, October 31.
  • One eastbound lane of Griffin Road from SW 33rd Avenue to SW 32nd Avenue will be closed Tuesday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday, October 31.
  • One lane in each direction of SR 7 / U.S. 441 at Griffin Road will be closed Tuesday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday, October 31.

 

Sheridan Street from the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge to A1A in Hollywood

Restrictions:

  • Two lanes in each direction of Sheridan Street will be closed Monday through Saturday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Two lanes in each direction of Sheridan Street will be closed overnight Monday through Saturday between 9:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m.

University Drive from North of Miramar Parkway Pedestrian Overpass Improvements in Miramar

Restrictions:

  • All lanes are open through September 5.

US 1 near Port Everglades & Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport

  • All northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. 1 are shifted to the east from Griffin Road to the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport interchange for construction of the new runway through late 2014.
  • One northbound and one southbound lane of U.S. 1 are closed at the I-595 interchange for construction at the airport through late 2014.

  • One northbound lane of Davie Road at the I-595 overpass will be closed overnight Tuesday through Friday between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m.
  • One lane of the ramp from eastbound State Road 84 to eastbound I-595 at Flamingo Road will be closed intermittently Tuesday through Friday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists will be detoured east on SR 84 to the next entrance ramp to I-595.
