Current Lane Closures in Broward County

February 27 through March 6, 2015

Broward County — Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Broward County are expected during the week of May 30 through June 6, according to the Florida Department of Transportation. I-95 from the Golden Glades in Miami-Dade County to Broward Boulevard in Broward

Restrictions:

  • Up to three northbound lanes of I-95, from the Golden Glades Interchange in
    Miami-Dade County to Sunrise Boulevard in Broward County, will be closed
    overnight Monday through Thursday between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. from 11 p.m.
    Friday, January 9 to noon Saturday, January 10. At least two lanes will remain
    open at all times. Entrance and exit ramps will be closed as needed in the work
    zone. Detours will be clearly marked and electronic signs will advise drivers in
    advance.

  • Up to three southbound lanes on I-95, from Sunrise Boulevard in Broward County
    to the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade County, will be closed overnight
    Monday through Thursday between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. and from 11 p.m. Friday,
    January 9 to noon Saturday, January 10. At least two lanes will remain open at all
    times. Entrance and exit ramps will be closed as needed in the work zone. Detours
    will be clearly marked and electronic signs will advise drivers in advance.

  • All southbound lanes at Griffin Road will be closed and traffic will be detoured Wednesday night, March 3 between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. for installation of an
    overhead sign. The following detours will be in place:

    • Drivers going south on I-95 who want to continue going south should exit
      at Griffin Road, go east to US 1/N. Federal Highway, south on N.
      Federal Highway to Stirling Road and west on Stirling Road to the I-95
      southbound entrance ramp.

    • Drivers on Griffin Road who want to go south on I-95 should go south on
  • Up to two eastbound or westbound lanes will be closed as needed on Hallandale
    Beach Boulevard Sunday night through Thursday night between 11 p.m. and 5
    a.m. and from 11 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday for bridge work. At least one
    lane in each direction will remain open at all times.

  • Up to two eastbound or westbound lanes will be closed as needed on Hollywood
    Boulevard Sunday night through Thursday night between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. for
    lighting and signal work. At least one lane in each direction will remain open at
    all times.

I-75 from NW 170th Street in Miami-Dade County to I-595 in Broward County

Restrictions:

  • One southbound lane of I-75 from north of Indian Trace to south of Indian Trace will be closed Monday and Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for construction.

  • The right turn lane from eastbound State Road 84 to Poinciana Way will be
    closed Tuesday through Thursday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for sound wall
    construction.

  • Northbound and southbound shoulders of I-75 from south of Sheridan Street to
    north of Griffin Road may be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m.
    and 3 p.m. for median work.

  • One eastbound lane of Sheridan Street west of I-75 will be closed Monday
    through Friday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to clear trees in the median.

  • One eastbound lane of Sheridan Street east of I-75 will be closed Monday
    through Friday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to clear trees in the median.

  • One westbound lane of Sheridan Street west of I-75 will be closed Monday
    through Friday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. to clear trees in the median.

  • One westbound land of Sheridan Street east of I-75 will be closed Monday
    through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to clear trees in the median.

  • One northbound lane of I-75 from north of Miramar Parkway to Pines Boulevard
    may be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for bridge
    construction.

  • One southbound lane of I-75 from north of Pines Boulevard to north of Miramar
    Parkway may be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for
    bridge construction.

  • One northbound lane of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to Miramar
    Parkway may be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for
    bridge construction.

  • One southbound lane of I-75 from north of Miramar Parkway to Miramar
    Parkway may be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for
    bridge construction.

  • Two northbound lanes of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to Miramar
    Parkway may be closed Monday night through Thursday night between 10 p.m.
    and 6 a.m.

  • Two southbound lanes of I-75 from north of Miramar Parkway to Miramar
    Parkway may be closed Monday night through Thursday night between 9 p.m.
    and 6 a.m.

Eller Drive east of the I-595/US 1 interchange at Port Everglades

Restrictions:

  • Intermittent lanes may be closed in either direction within the project limits
    Monday through Friday at all times.

  • One eastbound lane of I-595 entering Port Everglades will be closed as needed
    Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

  • One eastbound lane of I-595 entering Port Everglades will be closed as needed
    Monday night through Thursday night between 6:30 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Bridges of the Isles and Sunrise Key Bridges Replacement in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • One lane of the Fiesta Way Bridge is closed through mid-2015. Traffic signals
    and flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone.

  • One lane of the Nurmi Drive Bridge is closed through mid-2015. Traffic signals
    and flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone.

  • One lane of the Sunrise Key Boulevard Bridge is closed through fall 2015.
    Traffic signals and flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone.

  • The westbound right lane of Las Olas Boulevard from Nurmi Drive to Fiesta
    Way is closed through 7 a.m. Monday, March 16. All lanes will be open for the
    following special event: Las Olas International Triathlon on Sunday, March 15.

  • Westbound traffic on Las Olas Boulevard from Isle of Venice to Royal Palm
    Drive will be shifted into one eastbound lane Monday through Friday between 7
    a.m. and 5 p.m. or Sunday night through Thursday night between 10 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. for paving. Flaggers will be at each end of the traffic shift and at cross
    streets to assist motorists through the work zone.

  • One eastbound lane of Las Olas Boulevard from Isle of Venice to Royal Palm
    Drive will be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. or
    Sunday night through Thursday night between 10 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. for paving.
    Traffic on San Marco Drive, Coral Way, and Royal Plaza Drive will be right
    turn only onto eastbound Las Olas Boulevard. Motorists wishing to travel
    westbound will be detoured to turn right at Sunset Drive, left at Riviera Isle
    Drive / SE 25th Street and left to westbound Las Olas Boulevard.

CSX Bridge Replacement over the South Fork of the New River in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • Outside shoulder of the westbound I-595 exit ramp to northbound I-95 will be
    closed through October 2015.

Andrews Avenue Extension Reconstruction in Pompano Beach

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Andrews Avenue from NW 18th Street to Park
    Central Boulevard will be closed intermittently Monday through Sunday between
    9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

  • One lane in each direction of Copans Road from NW 15th Avenue to the CSX
    Railway will be closed intermittently Monday through Sunday between 9 a.m. and
    3:30 p.m.

  • One lane in each direction of Copans Road from NW 15th Avenue to the CSX
    Railway will be closed Friday night, February 13 and Saturday night, February
    14 between 11 p.m. and 9 a.m.

  • One lane in each direction of Copans Road from NW 15th Avenue to the CSX
    Railway will be closed Sunday night, February 15 through Thursday night,
    February 19 between 9 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Sheridan Street from CSX Railroad to North 26th Avenue

Restrictions:

  • All lanes open through March 6.

Sunrise Boulevard Bridge over the Middle River

Restrictions:

  • The sidewalk along both sides of the Sunrise Boulevard Middle River Bridge
    from NE 20th Avenue to Middle River Drive is closed through summer 2015.
    Pedestrians can use the sidewalk along the north side of the temporary bridge.

  • One of the two left turn lanes from northbound Middle River Drive to westbound
    Sunrise Boulevard is closed through early 2016.

  • One westbound lane of Sunrise Boulevard from Middle River Drive to NE 20th
    Avenue is closed through early 2016. Two lanes are open for westbound traffic
    on the temporary bridge for the duration of the construction project.

  • Left turns from westbound Sunrise Boulevard to southbound NE 20th Avenue
    are permitted from the left westbound through lane through early 2015.

  • One eastbound lane of Sunrise Boulevard from US 1 to Middle River Drive is
    closed through early 2016. Two lanes are open for eastbound traffic on the north
    side of the existing bridge through spring 2015.

A1A Reconstruction Project in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • A1A is restricted to one travel lane in each direction between Sunrise Boulevard
    and NE 18th Street.
    • The outside lane in each direction is closed between Sunrise Boulevard and
      NE 14th Court. Northbound and southbound traffic is being maintained on
      the inside lanes.
    • Both lanes of A1A between NE 14th Court and NE 16th Street are shifted west
      while crews work on the east side of the road.
    • Both lanes of A1A between NE 16th Street and NE 18th Street are shifted east
      while crews work on the west side of the road.
  • Motor vehicles and bicycles are sharing the travel lanes through the project
    limits.
  • Public parking along A1A within the project limits is prohibited until late 2015.
  • The speed limit is reduced to 25 MPH through the project limits.
  • The sidewalk is open on one side or the other. Pedestrian crosswalks and beach
    access are available at NE 9th Street, Birch State Park, SE 14th Street, SE 16th
    Street and SE 18th Street.

SR 7 / US 441 at Griffin Road Intersections Improvements Projects Information in Hollywood and Dania Beach

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of SR 7 / US 441 at Seminole Way will be closed
    Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

  • One eastbound lane of Griffin Road from SW 33rd Avenue to SW 32nd Avenue
    will be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

  • One lane in each direction of SR 7 / US 441 at Griffin Road will be closed
    Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.


Sheridan Street from the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge to A1A in Hollywood

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of A1A at Sheridan Street will be closed Monday
    through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Hillsboro Boulevard from west of Natura Boulevard to west of Dixie Highway in Deerfield Beach

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Hillsboro Boulevard will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Mast Arm Painting in Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of A1A from Atlantic Boulevard to Oakland Park
    Boulevard will be closed intermittently overnight Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.


Drainage Improvements Project in Fort Lauderdale and Lauderhill

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Commercial Boulevard from US 1 to Bayview
    Drive will be closed Monday night through Thursday night between 8 p.m. and 5
    a.m.
  • One lane in each direction of Commercial Boulevard from US 1 to Bayview
    Drive will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3
    p.m.

  • One eastbound lane of Atlantic Boulevard from east of E. Hemingway Circle to
    west of Lyons Road will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3
    p.m. through late March.

  • One westbound lane of Commercial Boulevard from NE 15th Avenue to NE 17th
    Avenue will be closed Sunday night between 8 p.m. and 3:30 a.m.

  • Access to NE 15th Avenue from Commercial Boulevard will be restricted Sunday
    night between 8 p.m. and 3:30 a.m. Detour signage will be in place to direct
    motorists during this closure. Motorists on Commercial Boulevard will use NE
    18th Avenue and NE 51st Street to access NE 15th Avenue. Motorists on NE
    15th Avenue will use NE 51st Street and NE 18th Avenue to access Commercial
    Boulevard.

Intersection Improvements Project at State Road A1A south of NE 7th Avenue in
Pompano Beach

Restrictions:

  • One northbound lane of A1A south of NE 7th Street will be closed Monday
    through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Powerline Road Improvements Project in Deerfield Beach

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Powerline Road from north of West Drive to the
    Palm Beach County line will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m.
    and 5 p.m.

A1A from Seacrest Parkway to the County Line Improvements Project in Hallandale Beach and Hollywood

Restrictions:

  • Up to two lanes in each direction of A1A from Seacrest Parkway to the Miami-
    Dade County Line will be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4
    p.m.

  • Sidewalks on both sides of A1A will be closed intermittently Monday through
    Friday. Signs will be in place to direct pedestrians to sidewalk detours.

  • U-turns from A1A northbound at the intersections of La Mer Condominiums
    (1890 S. Ocean Drive) and Hemispheres Condominiums (1980 S. Ocean Drive)
    are restricted Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. due to lane
    closures on A1A southbound.

SR 7 / US 441 Improvements Project from SW 25th Street to Fillmore Street in West Park, Miramar and Hollywood

Restrictions:

  • One of the two left turn lanes from northbound SR 7 to westbound Hollywood
    Boulevard is closed through early March.

  • One of the two left turn lanes from southbound SR 7 to eastbound Hollywood
    Boulevard is closed through early March.

  • One lane in each direction of Hollywood Boulevard from 61st Terrace to 59th
    Avenue is closed through early March.

  • One of the two left turn lanes from eastbound Hollywood Boulevard to
    northbound SR 7 is closed through early March.

  • One of the two left turn lanes from westbound Hollywood Boulevard to
    southbound SR 7 is closed through early March.

A1A Bridge Rehabilitation Project over the Hillsboro Inlet in Hillsboro Beach

Restrictions:

  • North Riverside Drive underneath the bridge is closed for the duration of
    construction.

  • The bridge is closed overnight to navigation between 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m.
    through April 30. Mariners may request an opening during this time by
    providing a four-hour advance notice to the bridge tender or by calling (954)
    943-1847.

  • The vertical clearance of the bridge will be reduced by 2 feet for the duration of
    the project.

  • The north and south side channels will be closed to navigation for the duration of
    the project because of on-going work in the channels.

  • For further marine traffic information, please review the Coast Guard’s Local

  • One lane of the bridge will be closed Monday, March 9 through Thursday,
    March 12 between 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. A flag crew will direct traffic across
    the bridge.

Andrews Avenue Reconstruction / Realignment Project in Pompano Beach

Restrictions:

  • Southbound Andrews Avenue will be reduced to one lane between Atlantic
    Boulevard and SW 1st County from Thursday, March 5 through Friday, July 3.
    One lane in each direction of Andrews Avenue will be maintained within the
    east side of the road. The left turn lane from southbound Andrews Avenue to
    westbound Atlantic Boulevard will not be affected.

  • SW 2nd Street will be closed from SW 12th Avenue / Andrews Avenue to east of
    the railroad tracks from Thursday, March 5 through Friday, July 3. Motorists
    will be detoured to SW 14th Avenue and SW 3rd Street.

Broward County Mobility Project

Restrictions:

  • All lanes open through March 6.

US 1 near Port Everglades & Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport
· One northbound and one southbound lane of US 1 are closed at the I-595
interchange for construction at the airport through early 2015.
