Current Lane Closures in Broward County

October 17 through October 24, 2014

Broward County — Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Broward County are expected during the week of May 30 through June 6, according to the Florida Department of Transportation. I-95 from the Golden Glades in Miami-Dade County to Broward Boulevard in Broward

Restrictions:

  • Up to three northbound lanes on I-95, from the Golden Glades Interchange in
    Miami-Dade County to Sunrise Boulevard in Broward County, will be closed
    Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. and from 11 p.m. Friday to
    noon Saturday. At least two lanes will remain open at all times. Entrance and exit
    ramps will be closed as needed in the work zone. Detours will be clearly marked
    and electronic signs will advise drivers in advance.
  • Up to three southbound lanes on I-95, from Sunrise Boulevard in Broward County
    to the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade County, will be closed Sunday
    through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. and from 11 p.m. Friday to noon
    Saturday. At least two lanes will remain open at all times. Entrance and exit ramps
    will be closed as needed in the work zone. Detours will be clearly marked and
    electronic signs will advise drivers in advance.
  • All northbound lanes on I-95 at Pembroke Road will be closed and traffic will be
    detoured Wednesday, October 22, between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The entrance ramp
    from Pembroke Road to northbound I-95 will also be closed. The alternate date for
    these closures is Thursday, October 23. The following detours will be in place:

    • Drivers going north on I-95 who want to continue going north should exit at
      Pembroke Road, go east to U.S. 1 / Federal Highway, north to Hollywood
      Boulevard and west to the northbound I-95 entrance ramp.
    • Drivers who want to go north on I-95 from Pembroke Road should take
      U.S. 1 / Federal Highway north to Hollywood Boulevard and go west to
      the northbound I-95 entrance ramp.

  • All northbound lanes on I-95 at Miami Gardens Drive will be closed and traffic
    will be detoured Wednesday, October 16, between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The entrance
    ramp from Miami Gardens Drive to northbound I-95 will also be closed. The
    alternate date for these closures is Friday, October 17. The following detours will
    be in place:

    • Drivers going north on I-95 who want to continue going north should exit at
      Miami Gardens Drive, go west to State Road 7/U.S. 441/NW 2nd Avenue,
      north to NW 199th Street/Ives Dairy Road and east to the northbound I-95
      entrance ramp.

    • Drivers who want to go north on I-95 from Miami Gardens Drive should
      take SR 7 to NW 199th Street/Ives Dairy Road and go east to the
      northbound I-95 entrance ramp.

  • The exit ramp from northbound I-95 to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed as
    needed and traffic will be detoured Sunday through Thursday between 11 p.m. and
    5 a.m. During this closure, drivers who want to exit northbound I-95 at Miami
    Gardens Drive should exit at State Road 826/NW 167th Street, go east to NE 6th
    Avenue and north to Miami Gardens Drive.

  • The exit ramp from southbound I-95 to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed as
    needed and traffic will be detoured Sunday through Thursday between 11 p.m. and
    5 a.m. During this closure, drivers going south on I-95 who want to exit at Miami
    Gardens Drive should continue south to SR 826/NE 167th Street, go east to NE 6
    Avenue and north to Miami Gardens Drive.

  • The entrance ramp to southbound I-95 from Miami Gardens Drive will be closed
    as needed and traffic will be detoured Sunday through Thursday between 11 p.m.
    and 5 a.m. During this closure, drivers who want to go south on I-95 from Miami
    Gardens Drive should go south on NE 6 Avenue to NE 167th Street and west to
    the southbound I-95 entrance ramp.

  • The entrance ramp to northbound I-95 from Hallandale Beach Boulevard will be
    closed as needed and traffic will be detoured Sunday through Thursday between
    11 p.m. and 5 a.m. During this closure, drivers who want to go north on I-95 from
    Hallandale Beach Boulevard should go south on I-95 to Ives Dairy Road and west
    on Ives Dairy Road to the southbound I-95 entrance ramp.

  • The entrance ramp to southbound I-95 from Hallandale Beach Boulevard will be
    closed as needed and traffic will be detoured Sunday through Thursday between
    11 p.m. and 5 a.m. During this closure, drivers who want to go south on I-95 from
    Hallandale Beach Boulevard should go north on I-95 to Pembroke Road and west
    on Pembroke Road to the southbound I-95 entrance ramp. Note: this ramp will not
    be closed when the I-95 southbound entrance ramp at Pembroke Road is closed.

  • The exit ramp from northbound I-95 to Hallandale Beach Boulevard will be closed
    as needed and traffic will be detoured Sunday through Thursday between 11 p.m.
    and 5 a.m. During this closure, drivers who want to exit northbound I-95 at
    Hallandale Beach Boulevard will continue north to Pembroke Road, go west on
    Pembroke Road to the I-95 southbound entrance ramp and south on I-95 to exit at
    Hallandale Beach Boulevard.

  • The exit ramp from southbound I-95 to Hallandale Beach Boulevard will be closed
    as needed and traffic will be detoured Sunday through Thursday between 11 p.m.
    and 5 a.m. Drivers going south on I-95 who want to exit at Hallandale Beach
    Boulevard should continue south to Ives Dairy Road, go east to the northbound I-
    95 entrance ramp and north to exit at Hallandale Beach Boulevard. Note: this
    closure will not occur when the exit ramp from northbound I-95 to Hallandale
    Beach Boulevard is closed.

  • The entrance ramp to southbound I-95 from Pembroke Road will be closed as
    needed and traffic will be detoured Sunday through Thursday between 11 p.m. and
    5 a.m. During this closure, drivers who want to go south on I-95 from Pembroke
    Road should go north on I-95 to Hollywood Boulevard and west to the southbound
    I-95 entrance ramp.

  • The exit ramp from northbound I-95 to Pembroke Road will be closed as needed
    and traffic will be detoured Sunday through Friday between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
    During this closure, drivers going northbound on I-95 who want to exit at
    Pembroke Road should continue north to Hollywood Boulevard, go west to the I-
    95 southbound entrance ramp and south on I-95 to exit at Pembroke Road.

  • The exit ramp from southbound I-95 to Pembroke Road will be closed as needed
    and traffic will be detoured Sunday through Thursday between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
    During this closure, drivers who want to exit southbound I-95 at Pembroke Road
    should continue going south to Hallandale Beach Boulevard, go east to the
    northbound I-95 entrance ramp and north to exit at Pembroke Road. Note: this
    closure will not occur when either the I-95 northbound exit ramp to Hallandale
    Beach Boulevard or the southbound entrance ramp to I-95 from Hallandale
    Beach Boulevard is closed.

  • Up to two eastbound or westbound lanes on Hallandale Beach Boulevard at I-95
    will be closed as needed Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. At
    least one lane will remain open at all times.

  • Up to two eastbound or westbound lanes on Pembroke Road at I-95 will be closed
    as needed Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. At least one lane
    will remain open at all times.

I-75 from NW 170 Street in Miami-Dade County to I-595 in Broward County

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of I-75 from Griffin Road to Indian Trace may be closed
    Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for road survey and construction
    work.

  • One northbound lane of I-75 from SW 148th Avenue to eastbound SR 84 may be
    closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for road work and tree
    relocation for sound wall construction. A flag crew will direct traffic.

  • One northbound lane of I-75 from south of Sheridan Street to north of Sheridan Street may be closed overnight Monday through Friday between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. to install barrier walls in preparation for construction.

  • One southbound lane of I-75 from north of Sheridan Street to south of Sheridan Street may be closed overnight Monday through Friday between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. to install barrier wall in preparation for construction.

  • One northbound lane of I-75 from north of Miramar Parkway to Pines Boulevard may
    be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for bridge construction.

  • One southbound lane of I-75 from north of Pines Boulevard to north of Miramar
    Parkway may be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for
    bridge construction.

  • One northbound lane of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway
    may be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for bridge
    construction.

  • One southbound lane of I-75 from north of Miramar Parkway to Miramar Parkway
    may be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for bridge
    construction

 

Eller Drive east of the I-595/US 1 interchange at Port Everglades

Restrictions:

  • Intermittent lanes may be closed in either direction within the project limits
    Monday through Friday at all times.

  • One eastbound lane of I-595 entering Port Everglades will be closed as needed
    Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

  • Northbound access to the intersection of Eller Drive and NE 7th Avenue will be
    closed as needed overnight Monday through Friday between 6:30 p.m. to 5:30
    a.m. for overhead bridge work. During the closure, northbound motorists on NE
    7th Avenue will be detoured east to McIntosh Road where they can make a U-turn
    to westbound Eller Drive toward westbound I-595, U.S. 1, or Fort Lauderdale-
    Hollywood International Airport.

Bridges of the Isles and Sunrise Key Bridges Replacement in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • One westbound lane of Las Olas Boulevard from Nurmi Drive to Fiesta Way is
    closed through late October.

  • One lane of the Fiesta Way Bridge is closed through late 2014. A traffic signal and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.

  • One lane of the Nurmi Drive Bridge is closed through late 2014. A traffic signal
    and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.

 

I-95 Bridge Painting and Rehabilitation over the South Fork of the New River in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • All lanes are open through Oct. 24

 

Kingfisher Waterway Bridge Replacement in Lighthouse Point

Restrictions:

  • The bridge is closed to all traffic through the summer 2014. Southbound traffic is detoured to NE 21st Avenue via NE 33rd Street and then back to NE 23rd Avenue via NE 30th Court. Northbound traffic is detoured to NE 21st Avenue via NE 31st Street and then back to NE 23rd Avenue via NE 34th Street.

CSX Bridge Replacement over the South Fork of the New River in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • All lanes open through October 24.

 

Andrews Avenue Extension Reconstruction in Pompano Beach

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Andrews Avenue from NW 18th Street to Park Central Boulevard will be closed intermittently Monday through Sunday between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

  • One lane in each direction of Copans Road from NW 15th Avenue to the CSX Railway will be closed intermittently Monday through Sunday between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

 

Sheridan Street from CSX Railroad to North 26th Avenue

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Sheridan Street from the CSX Railway to North 26th Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Sunrise Boulevard Bridge over the Middle River

Restrictions:

  • The north sidewalk along Sunrise Boulevard from NE 20th Avenue to Middle
    River Drive is closed through May 2015. This closure includes the NE 20th
    Avenue crosswalk.

  • One of the two left turn lanes from northbound Middle River Drive to westbound
    Sunrise Boulevard is closed through early 2016.

  • One westbound lane of Sunrise Boulevard from Middle River Drive to NE 20th
    Avenue is closed through early 2016. Two lanes are open for westbound traffic on
    the temporary bridge for the duration of the construction project.

  • Left turns from westbound Sunrise Boulevard to southbound NE 20th Avenue are
    permitted from the left westbound through lane through early 2015.

  • One eastbound lane of Sunrise Boulevard from U.S. 1 to Middle River Drive is
    closed through early 2016. Two lanes are open for eastbound traffic on the north
    side of the existing bridge through spring 2015.

Dixie Highway Roadway Improvements Project from McNab Road to NE 26 Street in Pompano Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Oakland Park, and Wilton Manors

Restrictions:

  • One southbound lane of Dixie Highway on the bridge over the North Fork Middle River Canal is closed for the duration of the project. This closure is necessary to remove and reconstruct the bridge concrete barrier wall and install the new pedestrian/bicycle railing.

  • One lane in each direction of Dixie Highway from NE 43rd Court to Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  • One lane in each direction of Dixie Highway from Oakland Park Boulevard to
    Commercial Boulevard will be closed intermittently overnight Sunday through
    Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

  • One lane of Dixie Highway from McNab Road to Commercial Boulevard will be
    closed overnight Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

I-595 Bridges Fender System Replacement Project over the South Fork of the New River in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • Minimal impact to motorists is expected during construction. The contractor does
    not anticipate any construction-related lane closures.

  • The horizontal clearance within the channel will be reduced from 40 feet to 30 feet
    while crews are working Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
    With a 45 minute notice, the barge may be moved to restore the 40 foot clearance.

SR 84 at I-95 Drainage Pond Restoration Project in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • All lanes are open through October 24.

 

West Lake Park Pedestrian Improvements in Hollywood

Restrictions:

  • All lanes are open through October 24.

 

A1A Reconstruction Project in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of A1A from Sunrise Boulevard to NE 14th Street is
    closed through late 2014. One lane in each direction will remain open.

  • Both lanes of traffic along A1A from NE 14th Street to NE 18th Street are shifted
    east through late 2014 as crews work on the west side of the road. One lane in
    each direction will remain open.

  • On-street parking along A1A within the project limits has been eliminated during
    construction.

  • The speed limit is reduced to 25 MPH through this construction zone.

 

Davie Boulevard Roadway Improvements Project in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • All lanes are open. This project has been completed.

 

Commercial Boulevard Roadway Improvements Project in Tamarac

Restrictions:

  • One lane in either direction of Commercial Boulevard from west of White Oak
    Lane to east of NW 49th Avenue will be closed intermittently Monday through
    Friday during non-peak hours.

  • Up to two lanes in each direction of Commercial Boulevard from west of White
    Oak Lane to east of NW 49th Avenue will be closed overnight Sunday through
    Friday between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

  • No lane closures on eastbound Commercial Boulevard are permitted between 6:30
    a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

  • No lane closures on westbound Commercial Boulevard are permitted between 3
    p.m. and 8 p.m.

SR 7 / US 441 at Griffin Road Intersections Improvements Projects Information in Hollywood and Dania Beach

Restrictions:

  • Two lanes in each direction of SR 7 / U.S. 441 at Seminole Way will be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday, October 31.

  • One eastbound lane of Griffin Road from SW 33rd Avenue to SW 32nd Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday, October 31.

  • One lane in each direction of SR 7 / U.S. 441 at Griffin Road will be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday, October 31.

 

Sheridan Street from the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge to A1A in Hollywood

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Sheridan Street from the Intracoastal Waterway to
    A1A will be closed Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  • One lane in each direction of A1A at Sheridan Street will be closed Monday
    through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

 

University Drive from North of Miramar Parkway Pedestrian Overpass Improvements in Miramar

Restrictions:

  • All lanes are open through October 24.

 

Hillsboro Boulevard from west of Natura Boulevard to west of Dixie Highway in Deerfield Beach

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Hillsboro Boulevard will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

 

Mast Arm Painting in Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of A1A north of Atlantic Boulevard will be closed
    overnight Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

 

A1A from Iris Terrace to Greenbrier Terrace Drainage Improvements Project in Hollywood

Restrictions:

  • One northbound lane of A1A at Iris Terrace will be closed Monday through Friday
    between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Monday, October 20.

  • Up to two northbound lanes of A1A at Iris Terrace will be closed Monday through
    Friday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Friday, November 7.


Drainage Improvements Project in Fort Lauderdale and Lauderhill

Restrictions:

  • One northbound lane of A1A from NE 6th Street to NE 7th Street will be closed
    Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Intersection Improvements Project at State Road A1A south of NE 7th Avenue in
Pompano Beach

Restrictions:

  • One eastbound lane of Commercial Boulevard from U.S. 1 to Bayview Drive will
    be closed overnight Monday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Powerline Road Improvements Project in Deerfield Beach

Restrictions:

  • All lanes are open through October 24.

A1A from Seacrest Parkway to the County Line Improvements Project in
Hallandale Beach and Hollywood

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of A1A from Seacrest Parkway to the Miami-Dade County
    Line will be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. through
    Wednesday, December 31.

Current Maintenance, Utility and Permit Closures

US 1 near Port Everglades & Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport

  • All northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. 1 are shifted to the east from Griffin
    Road to the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport interchange for
    construction of the new runway through late 2014.

  • One northbound and one southbound lane of U.S. 1 are closed at the I-595
    interchange for construction at the airport through late 2014.

    p.m. and midnight and two eastbound lanes will be closed overnight between
    midnight and 5 a.m. beginning Sunday, October 19 through Friday, October 24.

  • One westbound lane of I-595 from I-95 to I-75 will be closed overnight between 9
    p.m. and midnight and two westbound lanes will be closed overnight between
    midnight and 5 a.m. beginning Sunday, October 19 through Wednesday, October
    22.


Broward County Transit Improvements in Fort Lauderdale

  • One eastbound lane of SE 17th Street at U.S. 1 / Federal Highway will be closed
    Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning Tuesday, September
    23 through Tuesday, October 21.

  • One eastbound lane of Commercial Boulevard at NE 20th Avenue will be closed
    Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning Friday, September
    26 through Thursday, October 23.

  • One eastbound lane of NE 33rd Court at U.S. 1 / Federal Highway will be closed
    Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning Wednesday, October
    1 through Monday, October 27.

  • One westbound lane of Broward Boulevard at NW 3rd Avenue will be closed
    Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning Monday, October 13
    through Friday, December 31.

  • One southbound lane of A1A at Castillo Street will be closed Monday through
    Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning Monday, October 13 through Friday,
    December 31.

  • One westbound lane of Broward Boulevard at NW 11th Avenue will be closed
    Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning Monday, October 13
    through Friday, December 31.

  • One eastbound lane of Broward Boulevard at NW 11 Avenue will be closed
    Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning Monday, October 20
    through Friday, December 31.

  • One southbound lane of SR 7 / NW 40th Avenue at NW 19th Street will be
    closed daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Monday, October 13 and ending
    Friday, November 7.

State Road 84 Bridge over the South Fork New River in Fort Lauderdale

  • Right lane closures in both directions Tuesday through Thursday between 9 a.m.
    and 3 p.m. for inspection.


U.S. 1 at I-595 in Fort Lauderdale

  • Advance notice: The ramp from southbound U.S. 1 to westbound I-595 will be
    completely closed from 10 p.m. Sunday, October 26 to 5 a.m. Monday, October 27
    for deck joint repair.
