Current Lane Closures in Broward County

May 22 through May 29, 2015

Broward County — Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Broward County are expected during the week of May 22 through 29, 2015. I-95 from the Golden Glades in Miami-Dade County to Broward Boulevard in Broward

Restrictions:

  • Workers are installing plastic poles nightly along northbound I-95 from the Golden
    Glades Interchange to the Broward County Line about one-half mile south of Hallandale Beach Boulevard. The Express Lane entrance and exit locations will change daily. Up to three lanes will be closed Tuesday night through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Drivers who use 95 Express should be aware of the following changes along northbound I-95:

  • Beginning Tuesday, May 19 at 5 a.m., the northbound Express Lane exit located north of the Golden Glades Flyover will be closed and the exit point will be moved north to a new permanent location south of Ives Dairy Road.

  • Drivers in the Express Lanes who want to exit northbound I-95 at Miami Gardens Drive must exit the Express Lanes south of the Golden Glades Interchange at NW 151 Street.

  • The first exit point from the Golden Glades Flyover will be Ives Dairy Road.

  • Up to three northbound lanes of I-95 from the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-
    Dade County, to Sunrise Boulevard in Broward County will be closed Tuesday night through Thursday night between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. and from 11 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday. At least two lanes will remain open at all times. Entrance and exit ramps will be closed as needed in the work zone. Detours will be clearly marked and electronic signs will advise drivers in advance.

  • Up to three southbound lanes of I-95 from Sunrise Boulevard in Broward County to the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade County will be closed Tuesday night through Thursday night between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. and from 11 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday. At least two lanes will remain open at all times. Entrance and exit ramps will be closed as needed in the work zone. Detours will be clearly marked and electronic signs will advise drivers in advance.

  • The entrance to the southbound Express Lanes, located just south of Miami Gardens Drive, will be closed Tuesday night through Thursday night between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. for paving. Drivers going south on I-95 who want to use the Express Lanes should enter south of the Golden Glades interchange or stay in the general use lanes.

  • The northbound inside Express Lane at the Golden Glades Flyover will be closed
    Tuesday night through Thursday night between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. for roadwork. Access to the Golden Glades Park and Ride lot from the northbound Express Lanes will also be closed.

    Drivers in the Express Lanes will exit just south of the flyover. Northbound drivers on I-95 who want to access the park and ride lot should use the general purpose lanes, exit at NW 151st Street and follow the signs to the lot.

  • Up to two eastbound or westbound lanes of Pembroke Road at I-95 will be closed as needed Tuesday night through Thursday night between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. for bridge work. At least one lane in each direction will remain open at all times.

I-75 from NW 170th Street in Miami-Dade County to I-595 in Broward County

Restrictions:

  • One eastbound lane of I-595 west of 136th Avenue will be closed Thursday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  • One lane in each direction of I-75 from south of Sheridan Street to north of Griffin Road may be closed Tuesday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

  • Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from south of Sheridan Street to north of Griffin
    Road may be closed Tuesday night through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

  • One lane in each direction of Sheridan Street at I-75 may be closed Tuesday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

  • One westbound lane of Sheridan Street at I-75 may be closed Tuesday night through Thursday night between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.

  • The I-75 southbound exit ramp to Sheridan Street East (Exit 11A) will be closed
    Tuesday night through Thursday night between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. Motorists can detour to the exit ramp at Sheridan Street West (Exit 11B), continue west on Sheridan Street and make a Uturn at Dykes Road to eastbound Sheridan Street.

  • The I-75 northbound exit ramp to Sheridan Street West (Exit 11B) will be closed
    Tuesday night and Wednesday night between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists can detour to the exit ramp at Sheridan Street East (Exit 11A), continue east on Sheridan Street and make a Uturn at Flamingo Road to westbound Sheridan Street.

  • One lane of the I-75 southbound entrance ramp from westbound Sheridan Street may be closed Tuesday night through Thursday night between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.

  • The turn lane from westbound Sheridan Street to I-75 southbound may be closed
    Tuesday night through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.

  • One eastbound lane of Sheridan Street at I-75 may be closed Tuesday night through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.

  • One lane of the I-75 northbound ramp from eastbound Sheridan Street may be closed Tuesday and Wednesday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

  • One southbound lane of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to north of Miramar
    Parkway will be closed Tuesday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for bridge construction.

  • One northbound lane of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to north of Miramar
    Parkway will be closed Tuesday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for bridge construction.

  • One northbound lane of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to north of Miramar
    Parkway will be closed Tuesday night through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for bridge construction.

  • One southbound lane of I-75 from north of Pines Boulevard to south of Pines Boulevard may be closed Tuesday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for bridge construction.

  • One northbound lane of I-75 from south of Pines Boulevard to north of Pines Boulevard may be closed Tuesday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for bridge construction.

  • One southbound lane of I-75 from north of Pines Boulevard to south of Pines Boulevard may be closed Tuesday night through Thursday night between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. for bridge construction.

  • One northbound lane of I-75 from north of Pines Boulevard to south of Pines Boulevard may be closed Tuesday night through Thursday night between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. for bridge construction.

  • One westbound lane of Miramar Parkway at I-75 will be closed Tuesday night and
    Wednesday night between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

  • One eastbound lane of Miramar Parkway at I-75 will be closed Wednesday night and Thursday night between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

  • One southbound lane of I-75 west of Miramar Parkway will be closed Thursday night between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

I-95 Interchange from Hillsboro Boulevard to SW 10th Street

Restrictions:

  • Up to three southbound outside lanes of I-95 from Hillsboro Boulevard to SW 10th
    Street will be closed Tuesday night through Thursday night. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second lane will close at 10 p.m. and the third lane, if needed, will close at 12:30 a.m.

  • The I-95 southbound exit ramp to SW 10th Street will be fully closed Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via Hillsboro
    Boulevard.

Bridges of the Isles and Sunrise Key Bridges Replacement in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • One lane of the Fiesta Way Bridge is closed through mid-2015. Traffic signals
    and flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone.

  • One lane of the Nurmi Drive Bridge is closed through mid-2015. Traffic signals
    and flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone.

  • One lane of the Sunrise Key Boulevard Bridge is closed through fall 2015.
    Traffic signals and flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone.

  • The westbound right lane of Las Olas Boulevard from Royal Palm Drive to Isle of
    Venice Drive is closed Monday through Saturday through Monday, June 1. All lanes will be open for the following special events: Great American Beach Party on Saturday, May 23.

  • One lane of the Royal Palm Bridge will be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for utility work. Flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone during the closure.

Kingfisher Waterway Bridge Replacement in Lighthouse Point

Restrictions:

  • All lanes are open through May 29.

CSX Bridge Replacement over the South Fork of the New River in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • Outside shoulder of the westbound I-595 exit ramp to northbound I-95 is closed through October 2015.

Andrews Avenue Extension Reconstruction in Pompano Beach

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Copans Road from NW 15th Avenue to the CSX
    Railway will be closed intermittently Monday, March 30 through Sunday, April 5
    between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and Sunday night, March 29 through Thursday night,
    April 2 between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

  • Andrews Avenue north of Copans Road will be closed from 6 a.m. Saturday, May 30 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 31, for the installation of a drainage structure. Motorists will be detoured via Powerline Road, Copans Road and Sample Road.

Sunrise Boulevard Bridge over the Middle River

Restrictions:

  • The sidewalk along both sides of the Sunrise Boulevard Middle River Bridge
    from NE 20th Avenue to Middle River Drive is closed through summer 2015.
    Pedestrians can use the sidewalk along the north side of the temporary bridge.

  • One of the two left turn lanes from northbound Middle River Drive to westbound
    Sunrise Boulevard is closed through early 2016.

  • One westbound lane of Sunrise Boulevard from Middle River Drive to NE 20th
    Avenue is closed through early 2016. Two lanes are open for westbound traffic
    on the temporary bridge for the duration of the construction project.

  • Left turns from westbound Sunrise Boulevard to southbound NE 20th Avenue
    are permitted from the left westbound through lane through early 2015.

  • One eastbound lane of Sunrise Boulevard from US 1 to Middle River Drive is
    closed through early 2016. Two lanes are open for eastbound traffic on the north
    side of the existing bridge through spring 2015.

  • One westbound lane of Sunrise Boulevard at NE 20th Avenue will be closed Monday
    night between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

A1A Reconstruction Project in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • A1A is restricted to one travel lane in each direction between Sunrise Boulevard
    and NE 18th Street.

  • The outside lane in each direction of A1A is closed between Sunrise Boulevard and NE 14th Court. Northbound and southbound traffic is being maintained on the inside lanes.

  • Both lanes of A1A between NE 14th Court and NE 16th Street are shifted west while crews work on the east side of the road.

  • Both lanes of A1A between NE 16th Street and NE 18th Street are shifted east while crews work on the west side of the road.

    • Motor vehicles and bicycles are sharing the travel lanes through the project limits.
    • Public parking along A1A within the project limits is prohibited until late 2015.
    • The speed limit is reduced to 25 MPH through the project limits.
    • The sidewalk is open on one side or the other. Pedestrian crosswalks and beach access are available at NE 9th Street, Birch State Park, SE 14th Street, SE 16th Street and SE 18th Street.


Hillsboro Boulevard from west of Natura Boulevard to west of Dixie Highway in Deerfield Beach

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Hillsboro Boulevard from west of Natura Boulevard to
    west of Dixie Highway will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.


Mast Arm Painting in Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of A1A from Atlantic Boulevard to Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed intermittently Sunday night through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Drainage Improvements Project in Fort Lauderdale and Lauderhill

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Commercial Boulevard from US 1 to Bayview
    Drive will be closed Monday night through Thursday night between 8 p.m. and 5
    a.m.

  • One lane in each direction of Commercial Boulevard from US 1 to Bayview
    Drive will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3
    p.m.

  • One eastbound lane of Atlantic Boulevard from east of E. Hemingway Circle to
    west of Lyons Road will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3
    p.m. through late May.

  • One westbound lane of Commercial Boulevard from NE 15th Avenue to NE 17th
    Avenue will be closed beginning Monday, April 6 through late May.

  • Access between Commercial Boulevard and NE 15th Avenue will be restricted
    beginning Monday, April 6 through late May. Detour signage will be in place to
    direct motorists during the closure. Motorists on Commercial Boulevard will use NE
    18th Avenue and NE 51st Street to access NE 15th Avenue. Motorists on NE 15th
    Avenue will use NE 51st Street and NE 18th Avenue to access Commercial
    Boulevard.

Powerline Road Improvements Project in Deerfield Beach

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Powerline Road from north of West Drive to the
    Palm Beach County line will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m.
    and 5 p.m.

  • U-turns from northbound Powerline Road at Hillsboro Boulevard are restricted through late May.

  • One lane in each direction of Powerline Road from north of West Drive to the
    Palm Beach County line will be closed Sunday night through Thursday night
    between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. through late May.

A1A from Seacrest Parkway to the County Line Improvements Project in Hallandale Beach and Hollywood

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of A1A from Seacrest Parkway to the Miami-Dade County
    line will be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  • Sidewalks on both sides of A1A will be closed intermittently Monday through
    Friday. Signs will be in place to direct pedestrians to sidewalk detours.

  • U-turns from A1A northbound at the intersections of La Mer Condominiums
    (1890 S. Ocean Drive) and Hemispheres Condominiums (1980 S. Ocean Drive)
    are restricted Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. due to lane
    closures on A1A southbound.

SR 7 / US 441 Improvements Project from SW 25th Street to Fillmore Street in West Park, Miramar and Hollywood

Restrictions:

  • One of the two left turn lanes from northbound SR 7 to westbound Hollywood
    Boulevard is closed through May.

  • One of the two left turn lanes from southbound SR 7 to eastbound Hollywood
    Boulevard is closed through May.

  • One lane in each direction of Hollywood Boulevard from 61st Terrace to 59th
    Avenue is closed through May.

  • One of the two left turn lanes from eastbound Hollywood Boulevard to
    northbound SR 7 is closed through May.

  • Eastbound traffic on Hollywood Boulevard at SR 7 is shifted north to the inside
    lanes and will remain in this configuration through early May. Two lanes will be
    maintained in each direction. The left turn lane to northbound SR 7 / US 441 will
    not be affected. Motorists may turn right to southbound SR 7 / US 441 from the
    right lane.

  • Northbound traffic on SR 7 / US 441 from Washington Street to Hollywood
    Boulevard will be shifted west on Monday, March 9 at 9 p.m. and remain in this
    configuration through May. Two lanes will be maintained in each direction on
    SR 7 / US 441 as well as one left turn lane and one right turn lane from SR 7 /
    US 441 to Hollywood Boulevard.

A1A Bridge Rehabilitation Project over the Hillsboro Inlet in Hillsboro Beach

Restrictions:

  • North Riverside Drive underneath the bridge is closed for the duration of
    construction.

  • The bridge is closed overnight to navigation between 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m.
    through April 30. Mariners may request an opening during this time by
    providing a four-hour advance notice to the bridge tender or by calling (954)
    943-1847.

  • The vertical clearance of the bridge will be reduced by 2 feet for the duration of
    the project.

  • The north and south side channels will be closed to navigation for the duration of
    the project because of on-going work in the channels.

  • One lane of the bridge will be closed Monday, March 9 through Thursday,
    March 12 between 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. A flag crew will direct traffic across
    the bridge.

Andrews Avenue Reconstruction / Realignment Project in Pompano Beach

Restrictions:

  • Southbound Andrews Avenue will be reduced to one lane between Atlantic
    Boulevard and SW 1st County from Thursday, March 5 through Friday, July 3.
    One lane in each direction of Andrews Avenue will be maintained within the
    east side of the road. The left turn lane from southbound Andrews Avenue to
    westbound Atlantic Boulevard will not be affected.

  • SW 2nd Street will be closed from SW 12th Avenue / Andrews Avenue to east of
    the railroad tracks from Thursday, March 5 through Friday, July 3. Motorists
    will be detoured to SW 14th Avenue and SW 3rd Street.

Broward County Mobility Project

Restrictions:

  • One eastbound lane of Sheridan Street from N 67th Avenue to N 69th Avenue in
    Hollywood will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

University Drive from south of Nova Drive to south of westbound I-595 Entrance Ramp Improvements in Davie

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of University Drive from SW 23rd Street to Nova
    Drive will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

  • One lane in each direction of Nova Drive at University Drive will be closed
    Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Sunrise Boulevard at NW 24th Avenue Safety Improvements in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Sunrise Boulevard east of NW 24th Avenue will be closed Tuesday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Stirling Road at Oakwood Boulevard / SW 18th Avenue Intersection Improvements in Hollywood and Dania Beach

Restrictions:

  • Two lanes in each direction of Stirling Road from I-95 to east of SW 18th
    Avenue will be closed Monday night through Thursday night between 7 p.m.
    and 7 a.m.

  • One lane in each direction of Stirling Road from I-95 to east of SW 18th Avenue
    will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Atlantic Boulevard at Florida’s Turnpike Northbound Exit Ramp in Pompano Beach and Coconut Creek

Restrictions:

  • The outside lane in each direction of Atlantic Boulevard at the exit ramp will be
    closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Broward Boulevard Park and Ride Access Road Improvements in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • All lanes are open through May 29.

I-595 Express Corridor
One I-595 Express Lane from Nob Hill Road to University Drive will be closed between
9 p.m. and 4 a.m. and two Express Lanes will be closed between midnight and 4 a.m.
beginning Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29.
· One westbound lane of I-595 from Nob Hill Road to University Drive will be closed
between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. and three westbound lanes will be closed between midnight and 5 a.m. beginning Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29.
One eastbound lane of I-595 from Pine Island Road to University Drive will be closed
between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. beginning Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29.
· One eastbound lane of State Road 84 from SW 136th Avenue to Bright Road will be
closed between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. beginning Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29.
· Two southbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike from north of Sunrise Boulevard to south
of Broward Boulevard will be closed between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. beginning Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, May 28.

Improvements Project in Fort Lauderdale
· One northbound lane of US 1 north of Sunrise Boulevard will be closed daily between 9
a.m. and 4 p.m. through Friday, July 31.

· The eastbound and westbound left lane in the 400 block of East Atlantic Avenue will be
