Current Lane Closures in Broward County

February 5 - 12, 2016

Broward County — Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Broward County are expected during the week of November 27 through December 4. In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, lane closures have been suspended Wednesday, November 25 through Sunday, November 29. I-95 from the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade County to Broward Boulevard in Broward

Restrictions:

  • Up to three northbound lanes of I-95 from the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade County to Sunrise Boulevard in Broward County will be closed Monday through Thursday between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Entrance and exit ramps will be closed as needed in the work zone between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Detours will be clearly marked and electronic signs will advise drivers in advance.

  • Up to three southbound lanes of I-95 from Sunrise Boulevard in Broward County to the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade County will be closed Monday through Thursday between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. At least two lanes will remain open at all times. Entrance and exit ramps will be closed as needed in the work zone between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Detours will be clearly marked and electronic signs will advise drivers in advance.

  • Up to three lanes in each direction of I-95 between Hollywood Boulevard and I-595 will be closed from 11 p.m. Friday, February 5 until 1 p.m. Saturday, February 6 for paving. At least one lane will remain open in each direction at all times.

  • The exit ramp from northbound I-95 to Hallandale Beach Boulevard will be closed and traffic will be detoured from 11 p.m. Friday, February 5 until 1 p.m. Saturday, February 6 for paving. The following detour will be in place:

  • Drivers going north on I-95 who want to exit at Hallandale Beach Boulevard should continue north on I-95 to Pembroke Road, go west to the southbound I-95 entrance ramp and south on I-95 to exit at Hallandale Beach Boulevard.

  • The northbound Express Lanes from State Road 112 to Ives Dairy Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Tuesday until 5 a.m. Wednesday for plastic pole repair. Drivers should use the non-tolled general use lanes during this time.

  • The southbound Express Lanes from Ives Dairy Road to State Road 112 will be closed from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday for plastic pole repair. Drivers should use the non-tolled general use lanes during this time.

I-75 from NW 170th Street in Miami-Dade County to I-595 in Broward County

Restrictions:

    • Segment A & B (NW 170th Avenue in Miami-Dade County to South of Miramar Parkway in Broward County)
      • Two southbound lanes of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to Florida’s Turnpike will be closed Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
      • One northbound lane of I-75 from south of Florida’s Turnpike to Snake Creek Canal will be closed Sunday through Friday between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
      • Two southbound lanes of I-75 from south of Florida’s Turnpike to NW 170th Avenue will be closed Sunday through Friday between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
      • One lane of the ramp from northbound Florida’s Turnpike to northbound I-75 will be closed Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
      • Two lanes in each direction of Florida’s Turnpike at I-75 will be closed Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
      • One northbound lane of I-75 from NW 170th Street to north of Florida’s Turnpike will be closed Monday through Friday between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.
      • Two northbound lanes of I-75 from NW 170th Street to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed Sunday through Friday between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m.
      • Two northbound lanes of I-75 from Florida’s Turnpike to south of Miramar Parkway will be closed Sunday through Friday between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
      • A rolling lane closure on northbound Florida’s Turnpike at the I-75 interchange will take place Wednesday between 11 p.m. and midnight.

    • Segment C (South of Miramar Parkway to South of Sheridan Street)
      • One southbound lane of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to north of Miramar Parkway will be closed Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for bridge construction.
      • One northbound lane of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to north of Miramar Parkway will be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for bridge construction.
      • Two northbound lanes of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to north of Miramar Parkway will be closed Sunday through Friday between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. for bridge construction.
      • One southbound lane of I-75 from north of Pines Boulevard to south of Pines Boulevard may be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for bridge construction.
      • One northbound lane of I-75 from south of Pines Boulevard to north of Pines Boulevard will be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for bridge construction.
      • One southbound lane of I-75 from north of Pines Boulevard to south of Pines Boulevard may be closed Sunday through Friday between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. for bridge construction.
      • One northbound lane of I-75 from north of Pines Boulevard to south of Pines Boulevard may be closed Sunday through Friday between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. for bridge construction.
      • One northbound lane of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to north of Miramar Parkway will be closed Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. for bridge construction.
      • One southbound lane of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to north of Miramar Parkway will be closed Sunday through Friday between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. for bridge construction.
      • One lane of the I-75 southbound exit ramp to Miramar Parkway West (Exit 7B) will be closed Sunday through Friday between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. for bridge construction.
      • One lane of the I-75 northbound exit ramp to Miramar Parkway West (Exit 7B) will be closed Sunday through Friday between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. for bridge construction.
      • Two lanes in each direction of Miramar Parkway at I-75 will be closed Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for bridge construction.
      • Three northbound lanes of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to north of Miramar Parkway will be closed from 11 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday.

    • Segment D (South of Sheridan Street to North of Griffin Road)
      • One lane in each direction of I-75 from south of Sheridan Street to north of Griffin Road may be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
      • One lane in each direction of Sheridan Street at I-75 may be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
      • Two lanes in either direction of Sheridan Street at I-75 may be closed Sunday through Friday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
      • Two lanes in either direction of I-75 from south of Sheridan Street to north of Griffin Road may be closed Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
      • The I-75 southbound exit ramp to Sheridan Street East (Exit 11A) may be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Motorists will be detoured to exit at Sheridan Street West (Exit 11B), continue west on Sheridan Street and make a U-turn at SW 162nd Avenue to go east on Sheridan Street. Alternate routes include Griffin Road and Pines Boulevard.
      • The I-75 northbound exit ramp to Sheridan Street West (Exit 11B) may be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Motorists will be detoured to the exit at Sheridan Street East (Exit 11A), continue east on Sheridan Street and make a U-turn at Flamingo Road to go west on Sheridan Street. Alternate routes include Griffin Road and Pines Boulevard.
      • The I-75 southbound exit ramp to Sheridan Street West (Exit 11B) may be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Motorists will be detoured to exit at Sheridan Street East (Exit 11A), continue east on Sheridan Street and make a U-turn at Flamingo Road to go west on Sheridan Street. Alternate routes include Griffin Road and Pines Boulevard.

    • Segment E (North of Griffin Road to I-595)
      • One eastbound lane of State Road 84 west of 148th Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
      • One northbound lane of I-75 north of Royal Palm Boulevard will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

I-95 Interchange from Hillsboro Boulevard to SW 10th Street

Restrictions:

  • The I-95 southbound exit ramp to SW 10th Street will be fully closed Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists can detour via Hillsboro Boulevard.

  • The outside lanes of I-95 southbound between Hillsboro Boulevard and SW 10th Street will be closed Sunday through Friday with the first lane closing at 9 p.m., the second lane closing at 10 p.m. and the third lane, if necessary, closing at 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m.

  • Two westbound lanes of SW 10th Street at I-95 will be closed Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Bridges of the Isles and Sunrise Key Bridges Replacement in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • One lane of the Isle of Venice Bridge, Royal Palm Drive Bridge and Sunrise Key Boulevard Bridge will be closed through March 31. Traffic signals and flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone.

  • One lane of the Nurmi Drive Bridge and the Fiesta Way Bridge will be closed daily between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. through March 31. A flag crew will assist motorists through the work zone.

  • The westbound right lane of Las Olas Boulevard between Royal Palm Drive and Isle of Venice Drive will be closed through Thursday, March 31. All lanes will be open for the following special events: Sunday, February 14 for A1A Marathon; Saturday, February 20 for Dolphins Cancer Challenge; Saturday, March 12 for St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival; Sunday, March 13 for Shamrock Run; Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3 for Las Olas Art Fair; Friday, April 15 through Sunday, April 17 for Tortuga Music Festival; Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8 for Lauderdale Air Show; Saturday, May 28 for Great American Beach Party; Monday, July 4 for Independence Day Celebration.

  • Westbound traffic on Las Olas Boulevard between Isle of Venice and Royal Palm Drive may be shifted into one eastbound lane beginning Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Flag crews at each end of the traffic shift and at the cross streets will direct traffic through the work zone during this closure. Traffic on San Marco Drive, Coral Way, and Royal Plaza Drive will be right turn only onto eastbound Las Olas Boulevard. Motorists wishing to travel westbound will be detoured to turn right at Sunset Drive, left at Riviera Isle Drive / SE 25th Street and left to westbound Las Olas Boulevard. This traffic shift will allow crews to move cranes and other equipment. One lane in each direction will remain open to motorists.

  • Westbound traffic on Las Olas Boulevard between Isle of Venice and Royal Palm Drive may be shifted into one eastbound lane Monday, February 8 through Thursday, February 11 between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for roadway paving on Las Olas Boulevard, Isle of Venice, and Royal Palm Drive. Flaggers will be at each end of the traffic shift and at the cross streets to assist the traveling public through the work zone area during this lane closure. Traffic on San Marco Drive, Coral Way, and Royal Plaza Drive can only turn right onto eastbound Las Olas Boulevard. Motorists wishing to travel westbound will be detoured to turn right at Sunset Drive, left at Riviera Isle Drive / SE 25th Street and left to westbound Las Olas Boulevard. One lane in each direction will remain open to motorists.
CSX Bridge Replacement over the South Fork of the New River in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • Outside shoulder of the eastbound I-595 exit ramp to northbound I-95 is closed through summer 2016.

Andrews Avenue Extension Reconstruction in Pompano Beach

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Copans Road between NW 15th Avenue and the CSX Railway will be closed intermittently Monday, February 8 through Sunday, February 14 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

  • One lane in each direction of Andrews Avenue between NW 18th Street and Copans Road will be closed Monday, February 8 through Sunday, February 14 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

  • One lane in each direction of Andrews Avenue between Copans Road and Park Central Boulevard will be closed Monday, February 8 through Sunday, February 14 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

Sunrise Boulevard Bridge over the Middle River

Restrictions:

  • The sidewalk along the north side of the Sunrise Boulevard Middle River Bridge between NE 20th Avenue and Middle River Drive is closed through summer 2016. Pedestrians can use the sidewalk along the north side of the temporary bridge or the south side of the new bridge.

  • One of the two left turn lanes from northbound Middle River Drive to westbound Sunrise Boulevard is closed through summer 2016.

  • One westbound lane of Sunrise Boulevard between Middle River Drive and NE 20th Avenue is closed through summer 2016. Westbound traffic will travel in two lanes on the temporary bridge for the duration of the construction project.

  • Left turns from westbound Sunrise Boulevard to southbound NE 20th Avenue are permitted from the left westbound lane throughout the duration of construction.

  • One eastbound lane of Sunrise Boulevard between US 1 and Middle River Drive is closed through summer 2016. Eastbound traffic will travel in two lanes on the south side of the new bridge through summer 2016.

  • The eastbound inside lane of Sunrise Boulevard between NE 20th Avenue and Middle River Drive will be closed Sunday night and Monday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for drainage work.
Countywide Mast Arm Painting Project

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of the 17th Street Causeway at Eisenhower Boulevard and at SE 23rd Avenue / Harbor Inlet Drive will be closed intermittently Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

SR 7 / US 441 Improvements from SW 25th Street to Fillmore Street in West Park, Miramar and Hollywood

Restrictions:

  • One of the two left turn lanes from northbound SR 7 to westbound Hollywood Boulevard is closed through March.

  • One of the two left turn lanes from southbound SR 7 to eastbound Hollywood Boulevard is closed through March.

  • One lane in each direction of Hollywood Boulevard between 61st Terrace and 59th Avenue is closed through March.

  • One of the two left turn lanes from eastbound Hollywood Boulevard to northbound SR 7 is closed through March.

  • One of the two left turn lanes from westbound Hollywood Boulevard to southbound SR 7 is closed through March.

  • Eastbound traffic on Hollywood Boulevard at SR 7 is shifted north to the inside lanes and will remain in this configuration through March. Two lanes will be maintained in each direction. The left turn lane to northbound SR 7 / US 441 will not be affected.
    Motorists may turn right to southbound SR 7 / US 441 from the right lane.

  • Right turn lane from northbound SR 7 to eastbound Hollywood Boulevard is closed through March. Right turns are permitted from the outside through lane.

  • One lane in each direction of SR 7 / US 441 at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard will be closed as needed through March.

  • One lane in each direction of Hollywood Boulevard at SR 7 / US 441 will be closed as needed through March.

  • Traffic on SR 7 / US 441 from north of Washington Street to Fillmore Street is shifted east onto the newly-paved roadway. Two lanes in each direction will be maintained with one dedicated left-turn lane from each direction of SR 7 / US 441 to Hollywood Boulevard.

  • Fillmore Street, Polk Street or Duval Street will be closed as needed at the SR 7 / US 441 intersection Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. through March 4. Only one street will be closed at a time. Motorists should use an alternate route during the closures.

SR 7 / US 441 Improvements Project from Fillmore Street to south of Stirling Road in Hollywood

Restrictions:

  • The right turn lane of eastbound Johnson Street at SR 7 will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The through lane will serve as a temporary shared-use lane for through traffic and right turns.

  • The right turn lane of westbound Johnson Street at SR 7 will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The through lane will serve as a temporary shared-use lane for through traffic and right turns.

  • The right turn lane of eastbound Sheridan Street at SR 7 will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The through lane will serve as a temporary shared-use lane for through traffic and right turns.

  • The right turn lane of westbound Sheridan Street at SR 7 will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The through lane will serve as a temporary shared-use lane for through traffic and right turns.

  • The right turn lane of eastbound Taft Street at SR 7 will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The through lane will serve as a temporary shared-use lane for through traffic and right turns.

  • The right turn lane of westbound Taft Street at SR 7 will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The through lane will serve as a temporary shared-use lane for through traffic and right turns.

  • Beginning Monday, January 25 at 10 p.m., traffic on SR 7from north of Sheridan Street to south of Stirling Road will shift west. Two lanes in each direction will be maintained along with the current allowable turning movements.

SR A1A Bridge Rehabilitation Project over the Hillsboro Inlet in Hillsboro Beach

Restrictions:

  • North Riverside Drive underneath the bridge is closed for the duration of construction.

  • The bridge is closed overnight to navigation between 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. for the duration of the project. Mariners may request an opening during this time by providing a four-hour advance notice to the bridge tender or by calling (954) 943-1847.

  • The vertical clearance of the bridge will be reduced by 2 feet for the duration of the project.

  • The north and south side channels will be closed to navigation for the duration of the project because of on-going work in the channels.

  • One lane of the bridge may be closed overnight between 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. as needed. Flag crews will direct motorists across the bridge.

Andrews Avenue Reconstruction / Realignment Project in Pompano Beach

Restrictions:

  • All lanes are open through Friday, February 12.

Broward County Mobility Project

Restrictions:

  • One northbound lane of Nob Hill Road between State Road 84 and Broward Boulevard in Plantation will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for road widening and bike lane construction.

Broward Boulevard Park and Ride Access Road Improvements in Fort Lauderdale

Restrictions:

  • One lane in each direction of Nob Hill Road between State Road 84 and Broward Boulevard in Plantation will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for road widening.

  • One northbound lane of Pine Island Road between State Road 84 and Broward Boulevard will be closed Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for resurfacing.

Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS) Installation on University Drive, Griffin Road and SR 7

Restrictions:

  • The outside lane of eastbound Miramar Parkway at University Drive will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  • The outside lane of southbound University Drive at Miramar Parkway will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  • The outside lane of southbound University Drive at State Road 84 will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  • The outside lane of westbound Griffin Road under the Turnpike overpass will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  • One lane in each direction of State Road 7 between Stirling Road and Broward Boulevard will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  • The right turn lane of northbound State Road 7 at Broward Boulevard will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Right turns will be permitted from the outside through lane.
State Road 84 at Miami Road in Fort Lauderdale

  • Traffic on westbound SR 84 is shifted onto the newly-constructed outside lanes and will remain in this configuration through March. The inside through lane and two dedicated left turn lanes of westbound SR 84 from east of the Port Everglades entrance to Federal Highway are closed for crews to perform concrete pavement and utility work. Two lanes will remain open at all times: one through lane where right turns will be permitted and one dedicated left turn lane.

  • The outside lane of northbound U.S. 1 at SR 84 will be closed throughout the project.

U.S. 1 Improvements from Broward Boulevard to NE 17th Way in Fort Lauderdale

  • One northbound lane of US 1 between Broward Boulevard and NE 9th Street will be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

  • One southbound lane of U.S. 1 between NE 9th Street and Broward Boulevard will be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. and between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.

  • One lane in each direction of US 1 / Sunrise Boulevard between NE 9th Street and NE 17th Way will be closed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

  • Two lanes in each direction of US 1 / Sunrise Boulevard between NE 9th Street and NE 17th Way will be closed Monday through Friday between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.

  • One lane in each direction of US 1 / Sunrise Boulevard between Broward Boulevard and NE 9th Street will be closed Monday through Friday between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m.
State Road A1A Improvements Project from Oakland Park Boulevard to Flamingo Road in Fort Lauderdale

  • One lane in each direction of A1A between Oakland Park Boulevard and Flamingo Avenue may be closed Sunday through Friday between 9:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m.

  • Traffic in each direction of A1A between Oakland Park Boulevard and Flamingo Avenue is shifted to the east side of the road through spring 2016. Two lanes will be open in each direction.

Signalization Improvements Project in Fort Lauderdale

  • One lane in each direction of Broward Boulevard and NW/SW 9th Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

  • One lane in each direction of Commercial Boulevard and NE 15th Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Broward Boulevard Park and Ride Lot Improvements Project in Fort Lauderdale

  • All lots are open through Friday, February 12.

Sheridan Street Park and Ridge Lot Improvements Project in Hollywood

  • Lot No. 2 (the westernmost lot) is partially closed through February. Disabled parking is located in Lot No. 4 (the northernmost lot).

  • The bus access road on the east side of the lot is closed through February.

Northwest Neighborhood Phase III Pedestrian Enhancements Project in Fort Lauderdale

  • NW 15th Terrace between Sistrunk Boulevard / NW 6th Street and NW 7th Street will be open to local traffic only through February.

Dania Beach Boulevard Bridge Rehabilitation Project in Dania Beach and Hollywood

  • The bridge is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic for 60 days through early March. Motorists will be detoured via SE 5th Avenue, Sheridan Street and A1A / North Ocean Drive.

  • Lane shifts will occur along A1A / North Ocean Drive. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction.

A1A from SE 3rd Street to NE 7th Street in Deerfield Beach

  • Access between SE 2nd Street and A1A will be restricted while the contractor upgrades a drainage structure east of the intersection. Motorists will be detoured via A1A, SE 1st Street, and S Ocean Way.

  • One lane of A1A at SE 2nd Street will be closed Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for drainage work. A flag crew will direct traffic through the work zone.
Commercial Boulevard at Rock Island Road Intersection Improvements Project in Tamarac
  • The right lane in each direction at the intersection of Rock Island Road at Commercial Boulevard will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Flamingo Road Improvements from north of Griffin Road to south of State Road 84 in Davie
  • All lanes are open through Friday, February 12.

Ravenswood Road Bridge Replacement Project in Dania Beach

  • Ravenswood Road between SW 45th Street and SW 42nd Street is closed to through traffic. Motorists will be detoured west on Griffin Road, north on SW 30th Avenue and east on SW 42nd Street.
Military Trail / North Andrews Avenue Extension Improvements Project in Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach
  • One lane in each direction of Military Trail north of Sample Road to NW 33rd Street will be closed Monday through Friday between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

  • One lane in each direction of Sample Road at Military Trail will be closed Monday through Friday between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Oakland Park Boulevard Improvements from east of NW 31st Avenue to east of I-95
  • One lane in each direction of Oakland Park Boulevard at NW 27th Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  • One lane in each direction of Oakland Park Boulevard at NW 23rd Terrace will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

I-595 Express Corridor
