Current Bridge Construction Lane Closures in Palm Beach County

Ocean Avenue Bridge Painting over the Intracoastal Waterway in the Town of Ocean Ridge and the City of Boynton Beach

Restrictions:

One lane may be closed in each direction, 6 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Sunday, for bridge painting operations. As there is only one lane in each direction on the bridge, flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained on one side of the bridge at all times. For more information, please contact Community Outreach Specialist Meredith Cruz at 561-641-6440.

State Road A1A/N. Ocean Boulevard, from Thompson Street in the Town of Ocean Ridge, to Little Club Road in the City of Delray Beach, will have one lane closed in each direction, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, through July 2017, for FPL pole replacement. Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic. Sidewalks may also be closed, as needed, on the east and west sides of State Road A1A. Southern Boulevard (State Road 80) Bridge Replacement Project

Restrictions:

The north sidewalk on the Southern Boulevard Bridge is closed. Pedestrians should use the south sidewalk.


Flagler Memorial Bridge Replacement Project

Restrictions:

  • Flagler Drive is closed in both directions from 4 Street to the Flagler Memorial Bridge around–the–clock until summer 2017 while workers reconstruct the road in this area. Flagler Drive is closed in both directions from 7 Street to the Flagler Memorial Bridge around-the-clock until summer 2017 while workers reconstruct the road in the area. The following detours are in place:

    Drivers going north on Flagler Drive from south of 4thStreet should:

    • Go west on Banyan Boulevard

    • Go north on N. Dixie Highway

    • Go east on Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard to Flagler Drive

    Drivers going south on Flagler Drive from north of the bridge should:

    • Go north/south on Flagler Drive to Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard

    • Go west on Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard

    • Go south on N. Dixie Highway

    • Go east on Banyan Boulevard to Flagler Drive

    Drivers going west on Flagler Memorial Bridge should:

    • Go to N. Dixie Highway to go north or south

Marine Restrictions:

The navigable Intracoastal Waterway (ICCW) through the Flagler Memorial Bridge will have half-channel closures through May 2017. During half-channel closures, the horizontal clearance through the bridge is 35 feet. There will be no channel restrictions from 5:15 p.m. Saturday, June 24, to 6:15 a.m. Monday, June 26. In addition, there will be no channel restrictions from 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, to 6:15 a.m. Thursday, June 29. The existing Flagler Memorial Bridge opens for marine traffic once per hour at 15 minutes past the hour except for 8:15 a.m. and 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, when the bridge remains down for rush hour traffic. During presidential visits, the Flagler Memorial Bridge will open to marine traffic weekdays at 4:15 p.m. Intermittent full-channel closures may be necessary to perform project-related work. Full-channel closures are coordinated in advance with the U.S. Coast Guard.
