Current Construction Lane Closures in Indian River County

Aug 18 - Aug 25, 2017

I-95 (SR 9) from just north of State Road 60 (Osceola Boulevard/Exit 147) at Vero Beach to the Indian River/Brevard County Line

Restrictions:

  • Motorists should be alert for slow moving construction vehicles entering and leaving the travel lanes.

  • The speed limit has been reduced to 60 mph in the work zone.

  • Lanes in each direction of I-95 may be closed periodically Sunday through Thursday nights between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for construction.

  • The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from County Road 512 is shifted slightly to the east.

  • Southbound I-95 traffic is shifted at the following locations for construction:

  • MM 153 to MM 151.5 is shifted from the two outside lanes to the two inside lanes.

  • MM 153 is diverted to the median through Tuesday, August 15.

  • MM 156.5 to 155.8 is shifted to the new section of the CR 512 bridge through Tuesday, August 15.

  • MM 158 to MM 156 is shifted toward the median to the two inside lanes through Tuesday, August 15.

  • MM 160 to MM 158 is shifted toward the median to the two inside lanes through Tuesday, August 15.

  • MM 160 at the Brevard County line is switched from a left lane closure to a right lane closure through Tuesday, August 15.

  • I-95 northbound traffic exiting at CR 512 to Fellsmere is moved slightly north for construction in the area.

  • Northbound I-95 traffic is shifted at the following locations for construction:

  • MM 153 to MM 153.5 is shifted from the two inside lanes to the two outside lanes.

  • MM 151 to MM 152 has a slight change in the traffic pattern.

  • MM 148 is shifted back to its original temporary configuration.

  • On Sunday, August 13, southbound I-95 traffic will be shifted back to its original temporary configuration at MM 148.

  • On Monday, August 14, southbound I-95 traffic will be shifted into its permanent configuration from the Brevard County line at MM 160 to County Road 512/MM 153.


Central Railroad Corridor Greenway (CRCG) Pedestrian Overpass

Restrictions:

  • The shoulder along the I-95 northbound entrance ramp from County Road 512 may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. through fall 2017.

  • The shoulder along the I-95 southbound exit ramp to County Road 512 may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. through fall 2017.

  • One lane in each direction of I-95 north of Fellsmere Road will be closed Sunday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.


17th Street Shoulder Widening & Resurfacing

Restrictions:

  • Advance Notice: Starting Monday, August 21, the outside lane of eastbound 17th Street from U.S. 1 to 6th Avenue will be closed around the clock through November for shoulder widening.

  • Advance Notice: Starting Monday, August 21, the sidewalk on the south side of 17th Street from U.S. 1 to 6th Avenue will be closed around the clock through November for shoulder widening and sidewalk repairs. During this time, pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the north side of 17th Street, crossing at U.S. 1 and 6th Avenue.


State Road A1A just north of Orchid Island Drive in Vero Beach

Restrictions:

  • One lane in either direction of A1A will be shifted to the inside turn lane Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through August 18 to construct a turn lane. Two-way traffic will be maintained.


U.S. 1 south of Oslo Road in Vero Beach

Restrictions:

  • The southbound bike lane of U.S. 1 at the Toyota of Vero Beach will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through August 18 to construct a driveway connection. During this time, cyclists heading south from Oslo Road should cross at Oslo Road.
