Scope of Work:
The project improvements consist of minor reconstruction, and milling and resurfacing the roadway throughout the project limits of S.R. 5/U.S. 1 from Belvedere Road to south of S.R. 704/Okeechobee Boulevard to enhance infrastructure resilience and safety for the community; reconstructing curb ramps to meet ADA criteria and replacing portions of the existing sidewalk to improve pedestrian safety, connectivity, and use; upgrading signing and pavement markings to enhance visibility and safety; replacing drainage structures within driveways; adding a new signalized mid-block crosswalk north of Vallette Way; upgrading pedestrian signalization at Belvedere Road and Flamingo Drive and the crosswalk north of Cranesnest Way; installing overhead flashing beacons within the school zone north and south of Flamingo Drive; and upgrading lighting to LED fixtures and installing a new light at Flamingo Drive.
