Henry E. Kinney Tunnel Improvements and Pedestrian Plaza Project in Fort Lauderdale

US-1 in each direction from I-595 to Broward Boulevard may have up to two lanes closed, daily as needed, Monday through Friday.

The pedestrian sidewalk on southbound US-1 will also be closed in association with this operation and pedestrians will be detoured to the northbound sidewalk. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

Full Closure Notice: US 1 within the tunnel will have all lanes closed in each direction overnight, 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 17 and Thursday, Sept. 21 for traffic shift operations.Southbound US-1 traffic will be detoured via Broward Boulevard, SE 3rd Avenue, and Davie Boulevard. Northbound US-1 traffic will be detoured via SE 7th Street, SE 3rd Avenue, and Broward Boulevard. Signage will be in place to assist motorists. Please view the detour flyer attached.

US 1 Traffic Configuration:

US 1 will be reduced to one lane in each direction through early 2024.

The southbound US 1 tunnel chamber is currently closed, and traffic is shifted to one lane in each direction of the US 1 northbound tunnel chamber for rehabilitation operations. Crews anticipate this traffic shift to be in place through Sunday, Sept. 17, weather permitting. Signage is in place to assist motorists.

US-1 will have a temporary traffic pattern of one lane in each direction of each tunnel chamber from 5 a.m., Monday, Sept. 18 until 9 p.m., Friday night for median conduit operations. The inside lanes will be closed.

Traffic will be shifted to the southbound tunnel chamber beginning Friday morning, Sept. 22 through early 2024 for tunnel rehabilitation operations within the northbound tunnel chamber. One lane in each direction will be maintained at all times. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

Las Olas Boulevard Traffic Impacts:

Traffic along Las Olas Boulevard is shifted to one lane in each direction of the roadway through Aug. 30. The inside lane in each direction will be closed for median construction operations and traffic will flow on the outside lane.

Eastbound Las Olas Boulevard will have both lanes open on Aug. 30.

Westbound Las Olas Boulevard will have the single outside lane closure closed daily as needed for 6th Avenue construction operations.

SE 6th Avenue in each direction, from Las Olas Boulevard to SE 2nd Street, will be closed to traffic through late 2023.

Motorists traveling westbound or eastbound on Las Olas Boulevard wishing to access Federal Highway /US 1 via SE 6th Avenue will be detoured to SE 8th Avenue. Signage will be in place to advise motorists.

Motorists traveling southbound on Federal Highway/ US 1 wishing to access Las Olas Boulevard via SE 6th Avenue will be detoured to SE 5th Avenue. Signage will be in place to advise motorists.

Pedestrian Impacts:

The pedestrian sidewalk along US-1 in each direction, from SE 6th Avenue to Las Olas Boulevard, will be closed through late 2023 for tunnel top construction operations. Pedestrians will be detoured via SE 3rd Avenue.

State Road (SR) A1A/SE 17th Street Causeway Bridge Painting Project in Fort Lauderdale

Cost/ Completion: $ million/ early 2024

Traffic Impact:

SR A1A/ SE 17th Street Causeway Bridge will have intermittent single lane closures in each direction nightly, as needed, 8:30 p.m. until 7 a.m., Sunday through Thursday for bridge painting operations. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times throughout construction.

SR 25/US 27 Shoulder Widening Project, North of Weston

Traffic Impact:

Northbound US-27, from I-75 to the Broward and Palm Beach County Line, will have one lane and the shoulder closed daily, as needed.

Southbound US-27, from the Palm Beach County Line to I-75 in Broward, may have one lane and the shoulder closed daily, as needed.

SR 7/US 441 and SR 858/Hallandale Beach Boulevard Transit Improvements Project in Miramar, West Park, Hollywood, Plantation, Fort Lauderdale, Davie, Lauderhill, Coral Springs, Lauderdale Lakes, Margate, North Lauderdale, Coconut Creek

Adding a signalized, pedestrian mid-block crossing at the intersection of SR 7/US 441 and NW 3 Street, installing a 7-foot bicycle lane along westbound SR 858/Hallandale Beach Boulevard, widening the roadway to accommodate bicycle lanes along SR 7/US 441 from Southgate Boulevard to Cypress Creek Greenway/C-14 Canal, and upgrading sidewalks and curb ramps at 23 intersections. SR 817/University Drive from SR 84 To NW 1st Street Improvements Project in Plantation

Traffic Impacts:

One lane in each direction along University Drive from just south of I-595 to Broward Boulevard may be closed, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., for roadway widening.

One turn lane in the eastbound direction along Broward Boulevard at the intersection of University Drive may be closed, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., for roadway widening operations.

Two lanes in each direction along University Drive from just south of I-595 to NW 1 Street may be closed, Sunday through Thursday, between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., for roadway milling and resurfacing activities.

Bayview Drive Mobility Improvements Project in Fort Lauderdale

Traffic Impacts:

Intermittent single lane closures will occur in each direction along Bayview Drive from Sunrise Boulevard to Commercial Boulevard, Monday through Friday, between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., for sod operations. Flaggers will be present to direct motorists around the work zone.

A1A Mobility Improvements Project in Deerfield Beach and Hillsboro Beach

Widening the roadway to accommodate designated bike lanes, adding a sidewalk along the west side of the roadway between Opal Towers and SE 10th Street, upgrading existing mid-block pedestrian crossings with Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon Signs, and raising the roadway elevation from 900 Hillsboro Mile to south of Le Baron Apartments. One lane in each direction along Prospect Road from SR-7/US-441 to SR-870/Commercial Boulevard will be closed at a time between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for overbuild installation, turnout construction, concrete work, guardrail, and pavers installation. Flaggers will be present to direct motorists around the work zone.

One lane in each direction along Prospect Road from SR-7/US-441 to SR-870/Commercial Boulevard will be closed at a time between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m., Monday through Friday, for overbuild, structural asphalt, and pavement markings operations. SR-817/University Drive in Coral Springs Mobility Improvement Project

Traffic Report:

One lane in each direction along University Drive from Wiles Road to Westview Drive will be closed Monday through Friday, between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. for paving operations.

One lane in each direction along University Drive from Sample Road to NW 40 Street will be closed Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for the installation of new signals.

Pine Ridge Drive at N University Drive will be fully closed beginning 7 a.m., Monday, Sept. 18 until 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 29. Motorists will be detoured via Riverside Drive and Wiles Road. Access to local traffic will be maintained always.

SR-842/Broward Boulevard Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation (RRR) Project in Plantation

Segments along Broward Boulevard in each direction between University Drive and East Acre Drive will be closed, Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

SR-7/US-441 Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation (RRR) Project in Tamarac and North Lauderdale

Traffic Impacts:

One outside lane in each direction along SR-7 between Commercial Blvd and Bailey Road will be closed intermittently Saturday, and Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The right turn lane and outside lane along westbound Commercial Boulevard to northbound SR-7 will be closed Saturday, and Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

SR-845/Powerline Road Resurfacing Project in Deerfield Beach and Pompano Beach

Traffic Impact:

The outside lane and right-turn lanes along northbound and southbound Powerline Road will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for concrete removal, curb ramp installations, and paving operation.

One or two lanes and the right turn lane will be closed along northbound and Southbound on Powerline Road at Green Road from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

SR 842/Broward Boulevard Resurfacing Project in Plantation, Fort Lauderdale and Lauderhill

Traffic Impact:

One lane in each direction along Broward Boulevard from west of NW 42nd Avenue to SW 22nd Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

One lane in each direction along Broward Boulevard from west of NW 42nd Avenue to SW 22nd Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday between 8:30 p.m. and 6 a.m.
