1. State Road (SR) 9/I-95 from south of SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard in the City of Hollywood to the south of SR 842/Broward Boulevard in the City of Fort Lauderdale and SR 862/I-595 from SR 9/I-95 to SR 7/US 441 in the Town of Davie (95 Express Phase 3C)

Description: Work on this 9-mile 95 Express project includes extending the existing Express Lanes north from just south of SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard to just south of SR 842/Broward Boulevard in Broward County. One lane will be added, and the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane will be converted to create two Express Lanes in each direction. The number of general-use lanes will remain the same. Other project improvements include the construction of I-95/I-595 Direct Connectors between SR 9/95 Express Lanes and SR 862/I-595, as well as reconstruction, milling, resurfacing, and widening of SR 862/I-595 from SR 7/US 441 to SR 9/I-95 and along SR 9/I-95 from south of SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard to south of SR 842/Broward Boulevard. Additional work includes bridge widening along SR 9/I-95 at several locations, painting of 17 bridges within project limits, SR 9/I-95/SR 84 interchange modifications, Integrated Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) installation, including cameras, detectors, and dynamic message signs to optimize traffic operations, tolling/gantry construction, ramp signalization implementation at the interchanges, lighting, signage and drainage installation and construction of shoulder-mounted sound walls and retaining walls. Cost/Completion:$457 million/Early 2026 In observance of the Labor Day Holiday, lane closures will be suspended Friday, Aug. 29, through Monday, Sept. 1.

Traffic Patterns:

New Eastbound SR 84/Marina Mile Boulevard Traffic configuration: Eastbound SR 84/Marina Mile Boulevard is reconfigured to one lane just after the southbound SR 7/US 441 exit ramp (Exit 9B). Overhead signage is posted to guide motorists safely through the new configuration.

New Traffic Pattern for Eastbound SR 862/I-595 and a New Exit Ramp to SR 84/Marina Mile (Exit 9C): As of Monday, Aug. 11, a new traffic pattern was implemented along eastbound SR 862/I-595 as part of ongoing roadway improvements designed to enhance safety and reduce weaving movements along SR 862/I-595.

New Exit to SR 84/Marina Mile Boulevard: As of 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, the SR 84/Marina Mile Boulevard exit ramp (Exit 9C) was permanently relocated approximately 500 feet to the west. The new ramp provides a single-lane direct access to SR 84/Marina Mile Boulevard. Overhead signage and pavement markings have been installed throughout the area to guide motorists.

Eastbound SR 862/I-595 Managed Lanes Adjustment: As of Tuesday morning, Aug. 12, the egress from the SR 862/I-595 managed lanes was reduced from two lanes to one before merging into the eastbound general-purpose lanes.

These improvements support future corridor enhancements, including a new eastbound SR 862/I-595 entrance ramp from SR 91/Florida’s Turnpike and new direct connector ramps linking SR 862/I-595 to the SR 9/I-95 managed lanes. Signage will be updated to reflect all new traffic patterns.

Traffic Pattern for Westbound SR 862/I-595 to Florida’s Turnpike and SR 84 Ramp: The westbound SR 862/I-595 ramp to SR 91/Florida’s Turnpike and SR 84 (Exit 8) and the ramp to US 441/SR 7 (Exit 9A-B) are now permanently separated into two ramps. The newly constructed SR 862/I-595 westbound ramp to SR 91/Florida’s Turnpike and SR 84 (Exit 8) is located slightly west of the previous location and is open to drivers. Exit 9A-B continues to serve drivers traveling to US 441/SR 7. Signage is in place to assist motorists.

New SR 9/I-95 Northbound Managed Lane Traffic Pattern: The SR 9/I-95 northbound managed lanes were extended just north of SR 818/Griffin Road on Tuesday morning, July 15. Motorists must exit the managed lanes north of SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard to access SR 822/Sheridan Street, SR 848/Stirling Road, or SR 818/Griffin Road. Overhead signage has been updated to reflect the new exit pattern: Local Exits 21–29 & Sheridan St thru Griffin Rd.

Traffic Impacts:

Westbound SR 862/I-595 Advanced Full Closure Notice: All lanes of westbound SR 862/I-595, from SR 5/US 1 to just east of SR 9/I-95, will be closed to traffic from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m., on Monday, Sept. 8 for overhead sign structure installation and removal. To ensure the safety of motorists and crews, the following ramp movements will also be closed to traffic from 1 a.m. until 5 a.m., on Monday, Sept. 8:

The westbound SR 862/I-595 entrance ramp from southbound SR 5/US 1 and Port Everglades Expressway/Eller Drive will be closed. Traffic will be detoured via southbound SR 5/US 1, westbound SR 818/Griffin Road, and northbound SR 9/I-95 to access westbound SR 862/I-595.

The SR 862/I-595 entrance ramp from Terminal Drive will be closed, restricting direct access from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to SR 862/I-595. Airport traffic will be detoured via the NE 7th Avenue exit, westbound NE 10th Street/SR 818/Griffin Road, and northbound SR 9/I-95 to reach the SR 862/I-595 westbound entrance ramp.

The SR 9/I-95 northbound and southbound entrance ramps from SR 862/I-595 will be closed, requiring motorists to use alternate routes.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) will be on site to assist with traffic control, and detour signage will be in place to guide motorists safely through the area. Please view the detour flyer attached.

Westbound SR 862/I-595 Advanced Full Closure Notice: All lanes of westbound SR 862/I-595, between SR 9/I-95 and SR 7/US 441, will be closed to traffic nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, and Wednesday, Sept. 10. The closure is necessary to allow crews to safely install overhead sign structures. During the closure, westbound SR 862/I-595 traffic will be detoured via the ramp to southbound SR 9/I-95, westbound SR 818/Griffin Road, and northbound SR 7/US 441 to re-access the westbound SR 862/I-595 entrance ramp. Thursday night, Sept. 11 will be used as contingency night if needed. To ensure the safety of motorists and crews, the following ramp movements will also be closed from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. as part of this operation:

The northbound SR 9/I-95 to westbound SR 862/I-595 ramp will be closed. Traffic will be detoured via westbound SR 84 to access the westbound SR 862/I-595 entrance ramp.

The southbound SR 9/I-95 to westbound SR 862/I-595 ramp will be closed. Traffic will be detoured via westbound SR 84 to access the westbound SR 862/I-595 entrance ramp.

Eastbound SR 862/I-595 Advanced Full Closure Notice: All lanes of eastbound SR 862/I-595 between SR 84 and Pond Apple Slough bridge will be closed to traffic from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 15 and Tuesday, Sept. 16, for overhead sign structure installation. The first lane will close at 10 p.m., the second lane will close at 10:30 p.m., and all lanes will be closed by 11 p.m., reopening by 4 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via the SR 862/I-595 eastbound exit ramp (Exit 8 / 9A-B) to southbound SR 7/US 441, eastbound SR 818/Griffin Road, and northbound SR 9/I-95 to access the SR 862/I-595 eastbound entrance ramp.

In association with this full closure, the following ramps will also be closed nightly from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15 and Tuesday, Sept. 16 for overhead sign structure installation:

Northbound SR 9/I-95 Advanced Full Closure Notice: All lanes of northbound SR 9/I-95 between SR 736/Davie Boulevard and SR 842/Broward Boulevard will be closed to traffic from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14, for toll gantry installation. The first lane will close at 10 p.m., the second lane will close at 10:30 p.m., and all lanes will be closed by 11 p.m., reopening by 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via the northbound SR 9/I-95 exit ramp to SR 736/Davie Boulevard to re-enter northbound SR 9/I-95. Sunday night, Sept. 21, Wednesday, Sept. 24, and Thursday, Sept. 25, will be used as contingency nights if needed. Westbound SR 862/I-595 and SW 42nd Street/Perimeter Road Full Closure Notice: All lanes of westbound SR 862/I-595, from SR 5/US 1 to just east of SR 9/I-95, will be closed to traffic from 1 a.m. until 5 a.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 23 for overhead sign structure installation.

To ensure the safety of motorists and crews, the following ramp movements will also be closed to traffic from 1 a.m. until 5 a.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 23:

The westbound SR 862/I-595 entrance ramp from southbound SR 5/US 1 and Port Everglades Expressway/Eller Drive will be closed. Traffic will be detoured via southbound SR 5/US 1, westbound SR 818/Griffin Road, and northbound SR 9/I-95 to access westbound SR 862/I-595.

As a part of the westbound SR 862/I-595 full closure, SW 34th Street/Perimeter Road between SW 9th Avenue and SW 4th Avenue will close from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, for crane staging operations.

During the closure, westbound SW 34th Street/Perimeter Road traffic will be detoured via U-turn to eastbound SW 34th Street, southbound Perimeter Road, westbound SR 818/Griffin Road, northbound Anglers Avenue, and eastbound SW 42nd Street. To accommodate freight and large vehicles, the Lot 500–690 and Flightline/Azul Cargo driveway will serve as a U-turn point, allowing vehicles to access eastbound SW 34th Street and follow the detour.

Eastbound Perimeter Road traffic will be detoured via a U-turn to westbound SW 34th Street, southbound Perimeter Road, westbound SW 42nd Street, southbound Anglers Avenue, and eastbound SR 818/Griffin Road to northbound Perimeter Road. To accommodate freight and large vehicles, the driveway of Lots 750 and 3400–3500 will serve as a U-turn point, allowing vehicles to access westbound SW 34th Street/Place and follow the detour.

Tuesday, Sept. 23, will be used as a contingency if needed.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) will be on-site, and signage will be in place to guide motorists through the detour routes.

Business access will be maintained at all times.

Traffic Impacts:

SR 9/I-95 in each direction, between SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard and SR 736/Davie Boulevard, may have up to four lanes closed, nightly as needed, 9 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for paving. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second lane will close at 9:30 p.m., and the third and fourth lanes will close at 10:30 p.m. All lanes will be open by 5:30 a.m.

SR 9/I-95 in each direction, from SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard to south of SR 736/Davie Boulevard, will have shoulder closures, daily and nightly, as needed, Tuesday through Thursday.

The SR 9/I-95 northbound and southbound managed lanes and the inside general-purpose lane from Ives Dairy Road to SR 822/Sheridan Street may be closed nightly from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for paving operations. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists, and signage will be in place to assist motorists.

Ramp Impact:

The SR 9/I-95 northbound exit ramp to SR 84 will be closed to traffic nightly as needed from 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for drainage and punch list operations. Traffic will be detoured via SR 9/I-95 northbound to the SR 862/I-595 eastbound ramp and SR 5/US 1/North Federal Highway to SR 84. Signage will be placed to direct motorists.

The SR 9/I-95 northbound to the SR 862/I-595 westbound ramp will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for lighting and punch list operations. Traffic will be detoured via SR 818/Griffin Road, and SR 7/US 441 to the SR 862/I-595 westbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The SR 9/I-95 southbound entrance ramp from SR 818/Griffin Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for detection loop installation and punch list operations. Motorists traveling eastbound on SR 818/Griffin Road will be detoured via eastbound SR 818/Griffin Road, SR 5/US 1, and SR 848/Stirling Road to the SR 9/I-95 southbound entrance ramp. Motorists traveling westbound SR 818/Griffin Road will be detoured via Anglers Avenue, and SR 848/Stirling Road to the SR 9/I-95 southbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The SR 9/I-95 northbound entrance ramp from SR 818/Griffin Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for detection loop installation punch list operations. Traffic will be detoured via eastbound SR 818/Griffin Road, SR 5/US 1, and SR 862/I-595 to the SR 9/I-95 northbound entrance ramp. As an alternate detour, traffic may be routed via SR 7/US 441 and SR 862/I-595 to the SR 9/I-95 northbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The SR 9/I-95 northbound exit ramp to SR 848/Stirling Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, from 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, beginning Thursday, Aug. 28 for ITS and punch list operations. Traffic will be detoured via SR 818/Griffin Road, SR 5/US 1, and SR 848/Stirling Road. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The SR 9/I-95 northbound entrance ramp from SR 848/Stirling Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed from 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for overhead sign structure operations. Motorists traveling westbound on SR 848/Stirling Road will be detoured via Anglers Avenue and SR 818/Griffin Road to the SR 9/I-95 northbound entrance ramp. Motorists traveling eastbound SR 848/Stirling Road will be detoured via SR 5/US 1 and SR 818/Griffin Road to the SR 9/I-95 northbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The SR 9/I-95 southbound exit ramp to SR 848/Stirling Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for ITS and punch list operations. Traffic will be detoured via southbound SR 9/I-95, SR 822/Sheridan Street, SR 7/US 441, and SR 848/Stirling Road. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The SR 9/I-95 southbound entrance ramp from SR 848/Stirling Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for overhead sign structure operations. Traffic will be detoured via SR 7/US 441 southbound, and eastbound SR 822/Sheridan Street to SR 9/I-95 southbound. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The SR 9/I-95 southbound exit ramp to SR 822/Sheridan Street will be closed to traffic nightly as needed from 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday for ITS, paving, and punch list operations. The SR 9/I-95 southbound exit ramp to SR 822/Sheridan Street will be closed to traffic nightly as needed, from 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for lighting, overhead sign structure, and punch list operations. The SR 9/I-95 southbound entrance ramp from SR 822/Sheridan Street will be closed to traffic nightly as needed, from 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for loop, ITS and overhead sign structure installation, and punch list operations. Traffic will be detoured via southbound Dixie Highway and SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard to the SR 9/I-95 southbound entrance ramp. As an alternate detour, traffic may be routed via westbound SR 822/Sheridan Street, southbound North Park Road, and SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard to the SR 9/I-95 southbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The SR 9/I-95 northbound entrance ramp from SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for loop installation and punch list operations. Motorists traveling eastbound on SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard will be detoured via SR 811/North Dixie Highway and SR 822/Sheridan Street to the SR 9/I-95 entrance ramp. Motorists traveling westbound on SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard will be detoured via North Park Road and SR 822/Sheridan Street to the SR 9/I-95 entrance ramp. The SR 9/I-95 southbound entrance ramp from SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard will be closed to traffic nightly as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for loop installation and punch list operations. Motorists traveling eastbound on SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard will be detoured via SR 811/South Dixie Highway and SR 824/Pembroke Road to the SR 9/I-95 southbound entrance ramp. Motorists traveling westbound on SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard will be detoured via South Park Road and eastbound SR 824/Pembroke Road to the SR 9/I-95 southbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The SR 9/I-95 northbound exit ramp to SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard will be closed to traffic nightly as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for Dynamic Message Sign integration. Traffic will be detoured via SR 822/Sheridan Street, SR 811/North Dixie Highway, and SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The SR 9/I-95 southbound exit ramp to SR 858/Hallandale Beach Boulevard will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for ITS installation operations. Traffic will be detoured via southbound SR 9/I-95, Ives Dairy Road, SR 7/US 441, and SR 858/Hallandale Beach Boulevard. Signage will be in place to assist motorists. The SR 9/I-95 northbound entrance ramp from SR 824/Pembroke Road will be closed to traffic nightly as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for overhead sign structure installation. Motorists traveling eastbound on SR 824/Pembroke Road will be detoured via SR 5/US 1 and SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard to the SR 9/I-95 northbound entrance ramp. Motorists traveling westbound will be detoured via SR 7/US 441, and SR 820/Hollywood Boulevard to the SR 9/I-95 northbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The SR 9/I-95 southbound entrance ramp from SR 824/Pembroke Road will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for punch list operations. Motorists traveling westbound on SR 824/Pembroke Road will be detoured via SR 7/US 441, and SR 858/Hallandale Beach Boulevard to the SR 9/I-95 southbound entrance ramp. Motorists traveling eastbound on SR 824/Pembroke Road will be detoured via South Dixie Highway, and SR 858/Hallandale Beach Boulevard to the SR 9/I-95 southbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The SR 9/I-95 northbound entrance ramp from SR 862/I-595 westbound may have one lane closed nightly as needed, 9:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday.

The SR 9/I-95 northbound and southbound exit ramps to SR 818/Griffin Road may have two lanes closed intermittently, nightly as needed, 9:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday.

The SR 9/I-95 northbound and southbound exit ramps to SR 848/Stirling Road may have two lanes closed intermittently, nightly as needed Tuesday through Thursday.

The SR 9/I-95 northbound and southbound entrance ramps from SR 848/Stirling Road may have one lane closed intermittently, nightly as needed, 9 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, for ITS and drilled shaft operations.

Please note that ramp closures will be performed as needed per nighttime construction operations; consecutive ramps will not be closed at the same time.

Traffic Impacts:

SR 862/I-595 in each direction, from east of SR 7/US 441 to Anglers Avenue, may have up to four lanes closed nightly as needed, 9 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second lane will close at 9:30 p.m., and the third and fourth lane will close at 10:30 p.m. All lanes will be open by 5:30 a.m.

I-595 in each direction, from SR 7/US 441 to SR 9/I-95, will have shoulder closures, daily and nightly as needed, Tuesday through Thursday.

Ramp Impact:

The SR 862/I-595 eastbound ramp to SR 84 and the SR 91/Florida’s Turnpike will be closed to traffic nightly, as needed 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for sign structure installation operations. Motorists will be detoured via the adjacent ramp to SR 84. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The SR 862/I-595 westbound ramp to SR 7/US 441 will be closed nightly, as needed from 10:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday, for paving and punch list operations. Traffic will be detoured via SR 862/I-595 westbound and SR 736/Davie Boulevard to the SR 862/I-595 eastbound entrance ramp. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

The SR 862/I-595 eastbound entrance ramp from SR 7/US 441, the SR 91/ Florida’s Turnpike, and SR 84 will be closed to traffic nightly as needed, 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday. Motorists will be detoured via SR 7/US 441, SR 818/Griffin Road, and SR 9/I-95. Signage will be in place to assist motorists.

5. State Road (SR) 84/I-595 Corridor Resurfacing Project

Description: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will begin the I-595 Corridor Resurfacing Project in mid-June 2025. This major infrastructure effort includes repaving and restriping I-595 and State Road 84 from I-75 to I-95, covering the Express Lanes, General Purpose Lanes, and adjacent segments of State Road 84. The project is designed to extend the service life of the pavement and improve safety for all roadway users. Construction will be performed in phases to minimize disruptions and will occur at night to reduce impacts to daytime traffic. Access to properties along the corridor will be maintained throughout the duration of the work.
